I wouldn't bin Turner, but I would prefer it if we played Crooks at centre with Turner on the wing outside of him.

Correct me if Iam wrong,but if you have 13 players out it means you have only 4 first choice players playing in the squad,mcgoldrick/russell would be your fullback,briscoe,yeaman,turner would be your 1st choice backs,so that is the 4 regulars according to the 13 missing,which means horne,seymour,lynch,heremaia,watts,manu,whiting,westerman and probably pitts would not be 1st choices.!!
As I see it you have 12 of the regular 1st choice 17 playing,nothing like getting your excuses in early.!!!!

If Westerman's off the pitch (interchange) then I expect we will see either Whiting or Crooks kicking. Whiting's kicked for us in the past and Crooks has regularly kicked for the u20s.

13 players out means 13 players unavailable for selection.

Of the threequarters we have 2 'first-choice' available, not 4, as only Briscoe and Yeaman would be in the side if we hadn't lost any players. (First choice being fullback, Briscoe, Yeaman, Martin, Sharp).

Nobody has posted saying that all 13 players would have gotten straight into the side, but they could have. Competition for places, etc, and it still takes out a good chunk of players who would have been straight into our 17 no-questions-asked. The point about it being '13' is that also takes out several players who would have been back-up to these players, too.
Martin, Sharp, Houghton, Moa, O'Meley, Tickle, would all have been straight in the side.
Then, players such as Bowden, Kent, Nicklas are Hull's usual cover for some of these players.

I would love to see this team and IMO it would have more chance of winning than the team that PG will pick.

With so many senior players out and still with a shout of a play off place, I reckon he'll go with the senior players he's got available and try to fit a couple of round pegs with square holes. As long as every player puts 100% in, I'll be happy in victory or defeat.

Mcgoldrick did nothing wrong to merit missing out.Id personally put Russell or Lineham on the wing with Crooks at centre with Turner as water carrier.

Mcgoldrick is the safe option IMO, he will be average and nothing more, Russell has a bit if X factor, although he is prone to mistakes and needs work on his game.

I agree about Turner, always thought he was average and found it laughable when people were going nuts about him after a couple of good games against rovers and cas.

Im not a Mcgoldrick lover and was baffled when we signed him BUT he is a better F/B than Russell,who isnt as good as many make out.Neither are the answer as they wont be here next season.Agree totally about Turner....he has been average in his 3yrs here and Sts are welcome to him...Crooks is a better player now than Turner.

He has a certain novelty point though dont you think.
