What does he do when our defence compresses, Griffin moves in leaving a gap big enough for their centre to drive a bus through and a 2 on 1 over lap.
He comes in to force the play covering their centre. Not at all all Faraimo's fault.
It has been a common team problem regardless of who's been playing centre and wing. We compress and do not slide across quick enough.

From where I was watching, he is always too far in to start with, regardless of where his centre is. However as you say OT.

Just watching the first half now. Parra fans must have very high standards if they don't rate him. Tall rangy offloads and aggressive reminds me of Peacock. Ma'u playing as well shorter stocky and a powerful runner he would be a crowd favourite. Limited viewing but both look very impressive.

One more observation the gulf between SL and the NRL is frightening!

Griffin was at fault for one of them so you cant blame Faraimo.
Your centre makes a massive difference to a wings defensive reads.
Defence is not Griffins strong point

Offloading is not our strong point and something we must put into our game on a regular basis
We may make the odd offload error but it produces gaps and leads to tries

Fonua use to do similar,especially in his first year with us so nothing new.There is the odd time where he will shoot the line but also he has no choice but to cover the gap on his inside

It's the way the wingers are told to defend. They call it a wrap around defence. The winger jams in to either make the tackle or to make the pass difficult, then the centre and full back rush out to the winger. When you are defending an overlap it is undoubtedly the best method, because if you just hold your ground you will get picked off, you have to make it hard for the centre. The issue is when wingers start doing it when there is no real danger.

Faraimo was at fault for the 1st. Griffin had that tackle under control and Faraimo had no need to commit. I can't blame him for the second though because we were already really stretched and he did what I would have tried to do in that situation.

Thompson would be a great bit of business.

As with Josh Jones this has been hinted at for a while so it would be good to see it confirmed. Hopefully this weekend.

I watch a lot of nrl games,thompson is very impressive,will be an ideal signing for us if it comes off.

Hugely respected in the NRL for his leadership both on and off the pitch. Exactly what we need. Great capture if true. Recruitment coming along nicely.
