Who cooks on a Friday in this day and age ? also a person cannot iron unless the washing has been done in the first place.

While I welcome any attempt to invest and open something new in Hull, I'm pretty sure someone spent millions on Tower only about 5 years ago, launched with loads of fanfare and then closed abrubtely...and the economy is in a far worse state now than it was then.

While the economy is limiting the numbers who go out, I've always thought that transport lets Hull down on a night out. Other cities I've been out in there seems to be loads of taxi's, night-buses and trains. But if you try and go anywhere in Hull after 9pm your stuck with the 'He's just around the corner love' minicabs that are either late or don't turn up at all, or worse your stuck in the 3mile long black cab queue. No wonder people choose to stay at home or stay in their local.

It's full of 14 year olds with photoshopped passport print outs. I found it a bit weird the couple of times I went but each to their own.

The only thing wrong with spiders (when I used to go ) was the old b@stard bouncer who would let you in one week and refuse you entry the next.

The place is a cramped smelly dive full of kids, I agree. It's a shame because I like the music!

If they relocated into town, I reckon they'd be quite successful.

I've always been amazed that Walkabout haven't ever attempted to open in Hull. Reckon it'd do really well in the Old Town or George Street.

I used to have that problem at spiders, John Taylor, ex rovers and great britain player, in the 80's i used to think he had a personal vendetta against me till i found out he did this on a regular basis to people he didn't like the look of, funny enough i never had the same trouble getting in henry's or ocean 11 (if i was feeling really brave!! ha ha!!).

Yeah my mate had these issues as well. To be honest, I'd probably have gone to Spiders more than I had done over the years had we not felt it was a lottery getting in. I can't stand bouncers that are like that and now refuse to go to places that turn me or my friends away without offering a reason.

I don't know how old various posters are, but does anyone remember an era when you couldn't get into clubs because you were wearing jeans?

I know what you mean about trainers, I was asked a while back why I don't go into Napoleons anymore on the odd occasion we come back up to Hull, I said to them, when it ifrst opened it was no T shirts, no trainers, no jeans and no hoodies etc. Now, anything goes, and it's often quite full of people who can't afford to lose what they're gambling and get angry when other people win.
