There seems to be a disctinct lack of ambition shown.

O'Hara is a good signing. Horne is an average signing, as is Hodgson and for me so would Donaldson and Amor.

If so we need to be in for him and quick. Our pack needs seriously revitalising imo

Hodgson is an improvement on Fox. O'Hara is an improvement on Lovegrove.

So I guess it is improving the squad but it's not particularly improving it by much.

We certainly need at least two quality forwards for next season. Lynch would be a superb signing but I can't see Bradford letting him go and it would be stupid to pay a big fee for someone who might only play 2 or 3 seasons then retire. AP would see no return on his money.

Griffin would also be a very good signing. Either one of those and a top Aussie Ex test/soo forward would be good.

A right centre would also be nice but we might not have the salary cap to stretch that far.

Until we rid ourselves of our mediocre players, we can probably only take small steps towards winning anything. Dowes, Radford, Washbrook, Lauaki and Sharp all need to go. Along with Fitz. Long and Gleeson leaving for "other reasons". When we are in this position, maybe AP will be able to throw a little money around and make a big statement to the rest of SL.

I'm looking forward to next season with AP in charge but it is probably too soon to expect anything more than small-ish improvements.

2013 and beyond could be a very successful era though !!

Hodgson may be average, but he is still miles better then Sharp and Lyne. I would also say he is a better winger then Whiting as well.

All those players apart from Radford, Sharp and Gleeson (who's leaving anyway) are ooc. So why would you wait till 2013?

Its too early to give up on Sharp. Sure he has some defensive weaknesses but if he makes a mistake he doesn't try to hide. I was hoping that playing outside Gleeson would be the making of him but that's not going to happen now. I think he needs a run in the side to get his confidence back and he will hopefully get his chance against Crusaders. No point putting him (or any winger) on the bench though IMO.

Briscoe is usually on the left wing. The right winger is Sharp/Lyne/Whiting/Uncle Tom Cobley.

You are indeed correct, I'd actually swap them round and have Briscoe on the right.

The trouble is there are so few quality players coming on to the market now and with the situation down under now working against us recruiting there. A long hard look needs to be taken at our needs and what is available, throwing money at the problem is a short term measure.

A new coach is our top priority, one who can utilise what we have with a few quality players thrown in because we need time to develope and or hire in troops.

I agree, I like him. Makes plenty of metres and can finish well but just needs to cut the errors out of his game. Mainly dealing with kicks, guess it will always be hard for him with him being small.

I wouldn't touch Lee Smith as he has been woeful this season.

In terms of props I would certainly take Lynch (small fee), Griffin and Bailey. People will turn their noses up at Bailey but he would do a good job and add some size to our side.
