Peej is a great young forward, and would have loved for him to stay at Wakey. Hard honest worker, never backs out of a tackle, and always puts his hand up to run the ball in. Great on his feet for a big lad too.

Its great that the true Wakefield rugby fans come and post all the best to Paul, just like we do with Manu, wish him the best but just not against us next season.

This is a good solid signing. The problem with fans of this club is they really don't understand a salary cap. I'd love an NRL front row, NZ centres and State of Origin halfback pairing but it ain't gonna happen. Not every signing we make is going to be a world-class player; that's not possible. Aspinwall and McGoldrick have shown there are some diamonds among the rubble.

Beat me to it - Why cant people realise Sam wanted to go home to Australia and we could have offered him a Kings ransom but that is the case. Paul Johnson I cannot give an opinion but he was happy to come and PG must think some-thing of him. In PG we trust.

A player who I hoped we would sign after seeing him last season and bits and pieces this season. Always makes good metres and seems to be good on his feet for a forward. Very good signing IMO.

Good post, and I'd also add that in the last decade players like Shayne McMenemy, Sam Moa, Colin Best, Danny Brough, Richard Whiting to name just a few arrived with little fanfare or from lower league clubs and ended up being fan favourites.

To echo what others have said, not every player can be a superstar.
All the good teams are greater than the sum of their parts.

On the subject of PJ - you'll get good value from him; he's an honest, hardworking forward with a massive engine - he doesn't break the line and has no offload, but he'll put his hand up and run it in hard as and when required. Came to us when very few would and last season, looked good in a crap team. I hope it works out for him.

From the 8 games I've actually seen him play, I'd say we've replaced like for like with Aspinwall, but he's 6 years younger!

Decent signings as a 4th prop, always going to me near impossible to replace Moa.

But we have 3 excellent props for next year and 3 young props with lots of potential battling for the 4th prop position, also puts is in a good position when the season after next we could be losing two of our main props to retirement.

I think we replaced Moa when we signed Watts.

I like the thought of having an irony meter. Put it on the wall somewhere, probably next to the huge portrait of myself hanging in the hallway. I'll take the idea to the den andsee what they say.

The problem is, the irony meter itself would have to be hooked up to some sort of irony detector. I shall include all rights to my irony detector when pitching to the dragons.

How would the irony detector work, I hear you all ask? Well, it would detect any irony at a 20 meter radius from where the irony detector is located.

The irony meter will simply show & record the level of irony being detected.

In the future, I will develop mobile irony detectors and meters for those who live life in the fast lane.
