Simple solution:

IF Agar is being hamstrung by the actions of the board etc. then he leaves and sues for constructive dimissal.

Well none of us can answer that, we could get a different coach and things could be just as bad.
The facts are we never got Crocker (or Luaikia), we have been hit by injuries, the loss of Tom Brisoce was a blow imo and for Agar.
There has clearly been a rift, on Saturday I stood near the dug out and the body language and lack of communication was unreal.
Top players (internationals are just not performing), this happened with Kear & Sharpe and the players succeeded in getting rid. We may or may not improve next year, however I suggest we will if we back Agar let him get rid of the players who he needs to who have been involved in player power once too often and let him build a team who want to play for him. We then have an opportunity to coax a top coach if we need too instead of knee jerking which has become part of the problem in the past when we sack coaches willy nilly.

I'd love to know what you have seen in Agar to make you think he is anything other than inept, and way out of his depth.?

There'll be a counter claim that he's been masquerading as a coach though.

Simple fact is that either agar is a useless clown who isn't coaching the team effectively, or he's a good coach but the players are not responding to him for one reason or another. Either way it falls at his door.

The other thing is if people are being disruptive he should just drop them and fine them. morgan dropped cooke before one of their biggest games of the season for a breach of discipline and he did it again a couple of weeks ago. Strong action against the perpretators of ill discipline will soon nip it in the bud.

i say let it carry on as it is, they get the coaches sacked hopefully and then, in the end, the players will hang themselves and got rid of.

already some of the squad are on their way with new faces comin in, i just hope wve got another 7 or 8 more signings to come in on top of who weve signed already.

I tend to avoid debate with people that don't have a basic grasp of english, even more so people who use "buzz words" they have heard on telly what not knowing what they mean.

Hall going to Widnes demonstrates Agar's lack of ability, and I wouldn't call Fitzgibbon on a year "prudent".

I recall John Kear's head being called for in a similar way. Peter Sharp was called out of his depth. What is the common denominator in all this? The players.

I actually think the players were well within their right to resent and turn on Kear the way he behaved after we won the CC.

Peter Sharp was actually really well liked by the players who acted like proffesionals.

Think Agar is getting undermined by certain players because they know he isnt up to the job.

I think you'll find the common denominator is actually the board.

As Ian said in his first post there is blame to all parties in this. Sacking Agar won't change anything other than the players will think they have the power again and we will be left with Sharp.

Maybe it needs a coach to stand his ground and get shut of some players, maybe Agar is going to do this. The trouble is if he gets rid of players and brings in some good ones and still fails then we will know it's him.

Sacking the coach is the easy option and it has not worked so well for us in recent season has it.

I do not know what went on with JK or PS behind the scenes. All I see is what is happening on the pitch, so that is what I comment on. The players you say acted like proffessionals under Sharp are not doing so now are they? I'm sure there must be some channels the players can go down if they are not happy. Instead of not turning up on the pitch.

You have a point, but we know we can't change that unless some kindly multi millionaire pops up.
I just want to see the circle being broken for once, and give Agar his chance with his team. I could be talking up my sleeve of course, but my gut feeling is its the right thing to do.

I dont want a coach that is picking his team and writing it down on the back of an envelope on the day of the game!

If the board go we dont have a club (is that what you want?) also the board dont miss tackles or drop balls (a little like the coach doesn't) its the players that need to grow up and start performing.

I do agree though that Agar needs to drop those not performing and let em rot in the reserves, the problem though may arrise in is there enough quality to bring in.
By this i mean are the lads in the reserves big enough strong enough for superleague because if not we could ruin them for good.

I'd also like to point out that everyone keeps going on about a new Aus coach but with the visa situation we most prob wouldn't get one untill half way through next season, also where are all the next good young British coaches coming from other than Mcdermot i dont see any.

I know what your getting at but i can honestly say i have seen nothing from Agar that suggests he is the man to lead us back into title contention. There does need to be a clearout at the end of the season with Tickle, Thackray and King the main 3 who have to go but so should Agar, Sharp and Last.
