Like i said on another thread when you have Rovers Reserves players coming from all around Hull to go training and all Crooks does is get them to run around the pitch and tell to sort a game of touch out which happened on more than 1 occasion. I think its fair to say i dont want him anywhere near our young players.

I just hope the shocking reputation he gained whilst at Rovers doesnt mean players now pick them over us.

I know from speaking to alot of Rovers players who i know well and everyone of them couldnt believe how out-dated Crooks was compared to Drew Webster.

The reputation he has got is that he is a dinosaur who cant move with the times and is still in his playing in the 80s state of mind.

Heard a lot of rumours about Crooks on this board and find it a strange manouevere from the board. We have always had a very good youth development and to change what has been working for years is just asking for trouble.

Sounds like he is an overseer, a new roll/position made rather than an actual coaching role.

my thoughts exactly i heard he hated working for them and if you dont enjoy your job you arent going to do a good job are you i will reserve judgement i think

I'm not sure it's a cheap option. It sounds like it's a new role/position rather than him replacing a more highly paid ex-employee.

Same here also. His appointments elsewhere in a coaching capacity hasn't set the world alight.

What are the roles of everyone in the Youth set up?
We have Mel Harmon , Andy Last , Steve Crooks and now Lee Crooks as head of Youth . Also isn`t Paul Mcnicholas part of the set up ?

TBF coaching positions at York and Keighley would have been difficult tasks , as for RFL appointments some of those appear to be jobs to allow washed up ex-pro's the opportunity to re-start their lives.

Mel Harmon is a scout and McNichalas is in charge of loading foam footballs into a tube on match days

having lived in york a few years ago,the club was in turmoil when lee was there.the directors had no money to pay the players,who in turn didnt bother turning up for games,so it was hardly lee's fault.having to travel to an away game with your physo on the bench to make the numbers up says it all.attendances slumped to less than 200.york directors promised him allsorts,then promptly closed the club down,even though its good to see the knights staring well this season.he now has the chance to work with a smile on his face,and who can blame him?
