When's Chase contracted till, and when was Westerman contracted till, out of interest?

Seems to be some confusion over Westerman because we believed until 2012 but the club seemed to think it was end of this season.

Chase signed a four year deal in 2009 and as such is in contract until 2013.

except the stumbling block is we dont want to and wont be letting washy go so its a big bargain breaker i think sorry

How long has Chase got on his contract? Remember, Westerman was going into his last year! Given how important he is to Cas and how keen we are for cover I can see £300k almost being a minimum.
Problem is you're not going to pay £300k for cover.

yeah, Cas dont want to sell him. But he wants to go, having seen the team go backwards and his mate move on. Chase is MUCH better than Sammut imo, not even close, but very unlikely. Think it would take a request from Chase and a massive fee

Sheer numbers tells you we shouldn't be letting anyone go, as part of any deal!

For what it's worth, I think that Chase will stay with you. However, it might only be a matter of time before a club like a Hull, Warrington, Saints comes in for him. Would you rather stick with him for a season or two and get £150k like you got for Westerman, or try to get a bigger fee for him now?

If we signed Chase (with Washbrook leaving as part of the deal) and also brought Phelps in, Chase would provide another number at 6/7, and Phelps would offer cover at 1/2/3/4/5. If we stuck Phelps at 1, Tansey could then also be used at 6/7/9. If that situation occured, I don't think we'd miss Washbrook too much. I don't think we'd miss him too much either.

You are correct it is pure speculation to what Chase wants to do..However who knows he may have refuted claims because he want to come to Hull



Seriously though if a player [uwants[/u to move away from a team, the fee will not be huge as all coaches know the player is no longer the asset they were.It will be interesting how it all pans out..

i said about chase wanting to leave cas for us well before xmas,but people scotched at it! my mate who lives in cas(and works part-time for cas)said chase had asked to leave but was refused.i just wonder if there has been any movement regarding enquiries/bids for him?

I'd rather keep him. He's worth more to us than he is to you and we can build the team around him. With a new stadium on the horizon, the future is looking bright for us. I believe he would want to be a part of that - I certainly hope he would.

Not nervous at all. Chase is fundamental to our plans for the future. We have no reason to sell our most prized asset. It would be suicide from our Board of Directors.

I think the major sticking point won't be Cas wanting to sell, it'll be down to Chase wanting to stay or not.

I don't think he would come as cover, though, he would be interchaging hooker with Houghton and put into the halves when needed. Same with Sammut if he comes. They would play most weeks for me, barring any injuries THEY get!

Do Sammut or Chase want to come as cover? I doubt it.
They would come as first choice, that's why Chase makes more sense, Horne could then cover.

I am not sure we will actually see Horney again...hence the cheque book out.
