none of us know how the 3 year deal is stacked up, i would be very surprised if the 3rd year of the contract isn`t based on the number of games he has played in the previous 2 yaers, if he doesn`t play enough games the club would have the option not to take up the 3rd year.

That makes no sense what so ever..

I would expect Manu to miss half a season if he was playing at 38 yrs of age, my point is players can cut it at top level at 35 years old and perform relatively injury free as Menzie has proved when he was 35 yrs old.

Then its all good, one thing that does worry me is that players come back to quick just to get their apps up.

However the deal stacks up, the ball is now in Manu's court. We'll soon know how much he wants to be here. Hopefully he'll see what the direction the club is going in and he'll stay and be part of it.

Personally every time I watch Manu play the word freak springs to mind so we will beg to differ on that one and no doubt see the outcome in a few years time.

In the past I agree we have been sentimental, however I doubt sentiment comes into it with our new regime, again we will see.

Every long term deal has an element of risk. Rugby League is a contact sport you will get injuries but looking at Manu's previous injury record his perfomance week in week out over the last 5 years and his fitness in general. I have no problem with giving him a 3year and I hope he takes it.

Can't see Manu insisting on a straight deal anyway, with his injury record a 3rd year option would be just as good. It must be money.

Definitely the money, will be his last contract so we can hardly blame him for wanting the best deal whoever gives him it.

Well he's been offered a 3 year deal according to the HDM, which is what he has asked for, so the ball is in his court.

I would expect our back row next season to be Ellis, Tickle Westerman, Manu would be an impact sub, so would play less game time and hopefully stay healthier.

He looks good for another 3 years, and may be more. I hope he stays and goes on to get a testimonial.
With Ellis coming in, I don’t think he will be doing as many minutes per game, or playing on with injuries when he should be rested.

Even if his form drops some in his 3rd year, he would still be better than the average Joe in SL.

i honestly think its his agent which is stalling. I think manu would have signed straight away if the length on contract was right.. but i've read the thread and i agree that its another briscoe fiasco.
