I don't have a problem, I countered what Karen said with why i think Fridays are not as good for the club, this IS an open forum, though at times most would rather not see it that way. You can't say anything without being attacked like you have by saying "what is your problem" and accused of having a chip on my shoulder by karen for simply discussing matters!
What is YOUR problem would be more precise given how you've just put forward an argument for Fridays yet you have a problem with me putting forward mine?
Yet more typical reaction from those that don't like someone with a viewpoint alternate to theirs!

| I know I'm not a Hull fan but I don't think your attendances will be all that different whether you played Friday night or Sunday as there are people who have a preference for either with us been in the championship last season we played Sunday every week which meant every weekend was taken up whereas Friday games now and then frees up the weekend I personally think the atmosphere can be better for night games

Of course its everyone else that has a problem but you.
I asked what your problem was as you had clearly taken Karens personal view as though it was a sweeping statement for all Corporates even though it is clear from Karens post it is her personal view with not even the slightest hint of anything more. That reason alone was why I asked what your problem is!!
Me asking what your problem is has nothing what so ever to do with your viewpoint which you are entitled to the same as Karen and everyone else. I offered my viewpoint on Friday games nothing more. Please show me where I have said I have an issue your viewpoint for Friday nights!!
As for your comment 'Yet more typical reaction from those that don't like someone with a viewpoint alternate to theirs!' that's hilarious quite frankly coming from you as I would say without doubt that is your 'MO'.

| you're making a mountain out of a molehill, Karen clearly said if she was a business man, then started to say why in her eyes as a businessman/corporate Fridays would be better. I accept her viewpoint but how can it be reflective of all hence why I brought it up.
Yet the way it's worded is if that IS how all think, also the running aspect.
Again, you're making a bigger deal out of this because you don't agree with my viewpoint, others have said they'd prefer Sundays, lots in fact. I simply put across why I think Sundays are better for families and that Karen's singular viewpoint does not represent everyone from the corporate side.
You come wading in saying I have a problem, Karen wading in saying I have a chip on my shoulder when all I've done is politely countered what has being said using reasoning and examples.

Its got nothing to do with your viewpoint at all so don't assume that to be the case. You have taken what Karen has posted as though she was speaking for the masses which its clear she wasn't hence 'If I was a businessman etc' then followed that with a clear personal view. Its not that difficult to grasp.
I haven't come wading it all I simply asked what your problem is to have come up with your assumption on Karens post being that of a spokesperson for the corporates!
As I have already put in a previous reply to you I have no problem with your viewpoint whatsoever.

YOU came out with "If I was a business man etc" that imlies that your way of thinking is representative, otherwise why come out and say it? You then went on to say that runners like to run on a Sunday as reasons why Sundays are not good, I simply countered that, you know like an open forum is intended to be, a place for discussion.'"
By saying 'I' means that I was giving MY personal opinion on the situation and what I would prefer if I was in business and expected to attend corporate events, and it's amazing that only you read it differently. Chris71 has even given a personal example from experience confirming what I said, yet didn't suggest that I was implying anything. Same with the running comment, I said that I like to run and that I love Fridays because it means I can book races without worrying about fixture clashes. Pray tell me where that implies that I was talking about ALL runners.

| Some more data points..
I live out of town with kids (albeit older now). Fridays are way better for us than Sundays. Friday nights may mean a late night but a) there's no school/work the next day and b) the weekend is completely freed up. When our kids were younger this was a far better option as you could fit in rugby and had 2 full days to do things like walking in the Dales, visiting family, going to the seaside etc. Sundays as an out of towner are poor options for us. Need to leave around 1pm, and back around 7pm with school/work next day. I went to a recent membership meeting where they discussed preferences for matchdays, and they said that every time they ask, whether as part of a survey or focus groups, it's 50/50. Away support in the round is immaterial as travelling support to Hull is poor irrespective. I don't really have an opinion on corporate sponsorship preference but tend to agree with Karen. From a playing perspective you'd be bonkers to invite short turnaround disadvantages of Sunday to Friday when the likes of Wigan, Saints and Leeds all play home games on Fridays as default and there's the Thursday aspect to factor in.

Garbage, he is part of the reason, back to back CC wins, good players, good coaching set up etc. There isn't a single "main" reason at all.
save, perhaps, for "success"...

Take away AP and there is no guarantee we'd have had "good players, good coaching set up etc", so he is the main reason.

It's obvious isn't it, when he took over the club was a shambles on and off the pitch, it took time and a lot of money to get to where we are and that is mainly down to AP.
People where unsure when Tony was appointed, most fans (Including me) wanted Radford sacked at points, but he ignored the calls and has put the club in it's best position in it's recent history.
There are many other people who have helped this happen, but he is main person behind our recent success.

| AP was a catalyst, granted, but to describe anyone as the "main" reason is inaccurate.

Only one fewer in the trophy cabinet under Hetherington and the same number of finals though, she like Pearson ran the club as a business, we did produce players through the youth system during that time including ones that went on to represent at International level. I bet you weren't complaining when we won the CC in '05 and we had that amazing run in '06 plus how we battled through to the '08 final?
Owners, players, coaches come and go and you cannot predict how things will go in the future.
If attendances don't improve after the recent success then the club really needs to look at why that is, as per my previous post, last season was on the back of our most successful in all aspects for 30+ years, and yet we only saw an average increase of 460 fans on 2012. Let's hope more fans do turn up and the team continue to improve especially at home.

Think it was 2010 when the club was playing the 'this year is the one' card again and had the big name signings of Long, Fitzgibbon and O'Meley to sell seats.
As for the main driver of sales, theres nothing better for pass sales than consistent sucess and commited players. Yes the team still the odd off day (which we will need to fix if we are to win the league) but you can turn up almost all weeks and see the team give their all. We have built a better team with less high profile names giving 100% than we did in the era of signing big name, old injury prone players.
Wouldent be surprised if we have attracted a few lapsed City fans due to their issues either, partiuclarly juniors/youths who are now priced out at City.
