The Cap only covers wages I don't think it covers transfer fees we could have matched the Fee I guess but whether we could have covered the wages is another matter.

This has been covered hundreds of times. Transfer fees don't count on the cap

Assume we're paying miller what we were paying Seymour (ridiculous if true) and take off circa £120k for paea (rumoured), would leave us around £300k IMO. Should be at least 1 and hopefully 2 very good players coming in

Paea won't be on the same wage as Aussie test international O'Meley, surely?

Hi I'm new to the forums I read all the time but just registered. Heard today from a friend of a friend briscoe has no other options and has either stay with us on reduced terms or yawnion? I know that's been said a few times but has anyone got any good info on where abouts he's going?

Market has changed a lot since we signed o'meley. They're only my best guesses but I'll bet I'm not a million miles away

Think a lot of people are forgetting that we've given improved contracts to a lot of players too which will narrow the amount of cap space we have. Sure O'Meley, Tickle, Briscoe and Galea moving on will give us some money to play with but I bet it's not as much as some people think. Wouldn't be surprised if paea is on similar money to O'Meley for example. Having said that, We'll have saved a wedge on miller coming in for Seymour (I should hope)....nobody really knows what cap space we have available, however we NEED to strengthen.

How was omeleys contract massively reduced? Wasn't he signed on for 4 years hence you can't change it just because it's the last year or was it an extension on what he had?

No he came for 3 years and initially wasn't offered a new contract due to Bomber, but he came to an agreement with the club to stay on for one more year

People always over estimate players wages. I would suspect that only Ellis and DJ are on 100 grand plus

Would love for Briscoe to stay but I just can't see it now. I think it would have been announced by now. No idea where he will go though. If it was Salford I think it would have been announced today. It will be a real shame if he goes to Union. At least if he goes to Leeds he isn't lost to the sport.
