It's upto Manu now, the club have by all accounts done everything they can and offered him an excellent contract. If he can get better elsewhere so be it. Be gutted to lose him but players come and go all the time.

I suspect we are gonna get a lot of this as we have a nuymber of high profile players ooc so whatever happens with Manu I suspect it won't be long before we are talking about Ogre or Moa etc.

I'm certain of it. I'm also pretty sure we'll lose some players that fans might not want to leave. But we can't hold on to the whole squad if we want to progress and I'm more interested in who comes in as replacements than who leaves TBH.

Been told today that we won't be offering O'Meley a new contract and Moa is going because his missus can't get a visa.

I don't mind losing players provided we replace them with quality. Yeah fans have the odd favourite but as long as we sign good replacements the pain soon goes away.

It's when you get rumours like Briscoe going and Hull signing Crookes that I don't like.

The Moa one we have known about for some time. However in a recent interview he said he wouldn't rule out staying as he wanted to be part of the new regime. Depends if he can get a contract in NRL I suspect.

Ogre I expect to leave, injuries are starting to creep in with him and I don't think he is the type of prop that Gentle wants.

Hence my point about being more worried about who's coming in.

I remember reading Moa saying that he's thinking about staying because of the new regime and doesn't want to leave early and it be a mistake. But didn't realise it said or anyone has said about his partner not able to get a visa?

To be fair though, it is the agents job to get the best deal, otherwise the players would just negotiate the contracts themselves.

Don’t know how good this rumour is, but after Moa returned from compassionate leave, he has told the club that he will stay at least another year.
Apparently he was so grateful and overwhelmed with how well the club had looked after him during that time, he wanted to find a way to say thanks, and offered to stay at least another year.

If he stays, fantastic. If he leaves, well it's a big blow but no player is bigger than the club and it allows us to either spend his potential salary elsewhere on a name signing or promote one or more of the youngsters.

I'd like to think that loyalty plays a part plus I'd doubt Saints or any other club would be willing to pay a huge amount more than us.

There are far too many on here who think they are in the know. If you look through this thread, Manu is either staying, going to nrl, going to st. Helens, Leeds, Huddersfield etc etc. Someone is going to be right, but it will be by luck rather than knowledge.

The club have said they have put in a fair offer and that Manus management are considering it and all parties would like resolution by next week.
