Even if the reported figure is true, he must have known that nobody would spring that kind of cash. He was more than likely taking the mickey.

The relevance of the personal fortunes of the two protagonists is that this is what is being used to fund the respective clubs. The richer of the two is not in need of cash and the less rich unable to throw stupid sums around.

The idea that Davy wouldn't sell just because he has more money than Pearson is just daft.

Because he acted the idiot at the time and that he wasnt actually that good when he was with us,he had a good kicking game but very little else,he also had Tony/Briscoe,Horne,Cooke and Swain as his pivots so that helped as well...he has improved but i dont think he is the player some make him out to be.

He's also said several times that Hull booting him out was what made him grow up and stop messing about...had he stayed he would probably have remained a disruptive influence and who knows where his career would have gone after that (people forget that he dropped down to the Championship with Castleford after leaving us)

Davy won't sell because he won't get a replacement that's as good and he doesn't need the cash. The point about the relative wealth of the two owners - and hence the financial resources available to the clubs - is that there is no conceivable scenario where just making a big cash offer would swing the deal.

Decent player but not the scrum half your club desperately needs. Plus would be interesting to see how good he actually is, he is surrounded by truly world class players who are coached and trained to the highest of standards. I have my doubts about him.
