perhaps he was playing it down but seemed pretty genuine to me, he also said he's more than a little surprised they haven't offered him anything at all yet!

Watts has the making of a really top class player IF he sorts his attitude out

Manu's been replaced, we can afford a slight drop on O'Meley if we can get a player who plays most games.

Don't think it works like that personally. O Meley is a front line player who needs replacing with an equal or better. He's taking a fair bit of stick for being injured this season but nonetheless when he's out we cover for him - when he's fit he's straight back in because he is front line. His replacement needs also to be front line regardless of whether they play one game or 27. If his replacement is weaker as a player then our squad is weaker end of. Jake is right it will be very difficult to replace him but here's hoping we do.

That's only relevent if your only signing and losing 1 player, we could sign a player on a third of his wage and use the rest of the cash to sign a half back.

No point in having great half backs if your forwards aren't up to the job. Even at full strength we're no match for the top 4 or 5 sides so replacing players with lower quality ones will weaken us

How has manu been replaced when we offered him a contract after we signed ellis?

Our 3 main "strike" players this season have been turner, manu and briscoe. 2 of them are leaving this year and one the next. We need to replace them with equal or better quality or we go backwards. Likewise, we are losing 2 impact players in o'meley and moa. You can't just throw a solid player in and expect to compete

In the front row, signing better players in more key positions will strengthen us.

Watts clearly has ability, if we can get him cheap enough and sign a half were in a stronger position.

Replacing a fully fit, on form O'Meley is nearly impossible.

watts has potential but it would be a massive risk for him to be one of our 4 first choice props. bowden has pretty much sewn up the 5th prop spot so I fail to see where watts would fit. As staffs says, he can't even get in rovers team and I'd be disappointed if we replace o'meley or moa with him. If we replace them both with johnson and watts then it will be a disaster. I hope gentle has a couple of top quality forwards still to be announced

Personally I can't see the problem in signing a young british prop who was in the England squad less than a year ago.

Unless he can't even hold down a place in the starting 17 of the club sitting in 9th place

Fair play to you. The last time I saw him was in the KC derby where he was poor. Last week he lost his place in the KR team. He's also lost his place in the England squad. Regardless of recent injury I would have given O Meley another year if we are losing Moa for some continuity. I'm looking higher than Watts. I would however accept Lovegrove who IMO is better than Watts and another top quality prop as replacements for the two.

But you don't rate Sandy as a coach.

Under a good coach he should do better, i've seen poor props go on to be very good players under good coaching.

And thats if nothings gone on behind the scenes and its just ability.

He's working under a rubbish coach though. Turner and Sharp both looked dodgy under Agar. I don't know enough about Watts to form an opinion either way, I'm just offering up a suggestion.

Any realistic players in NRL who could replace Moa/Ogre? I don't see as much of it as i would like to.
