Maybe but he needs to keep his own counsel then, we need to attract fans back, the club made a statement on intent with this signing G.Ellis followed by statements that agents are banging our door down, AP promising signings that will enforce our statement of intent etc...now we have well the players are hard to find stories coming out, generally fans are gutted we have lost Manu, we have had a poor run of form, rumours not all is well with the club, statements of punitive measures in place at the club etc...none of this will entice the fans back through the gate. Our media dept seriously needs addressing, and Bomber needs to stop all this pointless talking

I don't disagree that McRae talks too much, but he's not contradicting himself as you claim. You're the one who has interpreted 'agents knocking down the door' as quality players falling over themselves to play for us. I'd expect it to be much more like when you or I buy something from somewhere and are then bombarded with emails and letters trying to sell us all sorts of other s**te as well. It doesn't mean it's suddenly easy to find what you actually want/need.

Maybe it is my interpretation, however Bomber went to the media claiming that Manu had to make his mind up etc, a few weeks later regarding Whiting & Turner he said he was in no rush because as a club we understand that it is a big decision etc, now for me that is a contradiction of how we operate as a club.
It is not so much my interpretation of a quality player but more the statements made by the club that we will be getting quality players to challenge, I could get the links up but presently I do not have time.

I agree there needs to be a balance, and like you say fans would complain if nothing came out of the club, presently I feel too much is coming out of the club and most of it pointless. if he was coach n spending so much time talking to media then id agree. But he's DOR. Its part of his job description to save the coach having to field so many questions espesially regarding player rumours n speculation cos PG would never get any coaching done!! Only last night heard Brough on a 4 yr deal! on face of it a decent source but i still think its rubbish. At the point i cant believe any rumour any more. It's obvious that the HDM gets a fair bit of it's 'gossip' from these sites and gets published, maybe McRea is politley saying 'shut the f eck up' with all these rumours shoite and let us get on with what we do. Afterall nothing will have been said without firstly being agreed by Gentle and Pearson.
By not saying anything about wanting a half back, would this mean that all the agents/coaches/chairmen of every RL club are NOT aware of our needs and would come as a surprise if we made an approach to any club for any half back??......yeah rite.
On the other hand had he not said anything about a half back all the moaners on here would be slitting their throats because McRea cannot see what we need.

It seems to me some are all consumed by an Ad Infinitum rumours thread on this message board which is 99% garbage. Then when the club communicates via its DOR about generic subjects such as team strengthening it gets slated. Unbelieveable really.

McRae is just doing his job!! if the press contact him and ask him various questions he responds. It's the press who then publish these answers or sound bites not McRae. If he gave them no comment or told them to bugger off, they'd publish that and their would be even more complaining on here. As some have said he can't win. IMO he appears to be doing a sound job, thus far he has brought in Ellis/Arundal and a deal for Watts appears imminent. Get off his back.

Been too long at Hull when players have been overpaid/over valued, Gentle identifys who he wants and leaves the nitty gritty to McRae as well as on retention too.

That’s not a contradiction, either. It’s arguably an inconsistency, but given that all players and all situations are not the same, I don’t see why they should be treated as such. Just like all contracts should not be of the same length and value, they are affected by the player’s importance to/affect on the team in much the same way. The Manu situation was a lot more influential on our recruitment/retention than Whiting or Turner, so if you can’t see why there was a far more pressing need to conclude it quickly I think you’re being either naive, foolish, or intentionally obtuse in order to have something further to complain about.

And of course it is at least partly about your interpretation of a quality player. Yes, the club said they would be getting quality players to challenge. In their opinion they may well think they have. If you don't that's down to differing opinions on what constitutes a quality player. Also, it's June and our recruitment is not finished. I really don't see why you're getting into such a state at this stage. Why not wait and see who else we [iactually[/i bring in before criticising the recruitment (or lack of) a load of faceless and probably largely ill-informed people have claimed we are making, along with an unhealthy dollop of reading between the lines in newspaper articles?

I like the public presence Bomber maintains. I also like the fact that he's elloquent and talks well. I would rather have regular output through the club's conduit than it be like the old regime were we were lucky to get scraps. Typical of this forum that someone be pilloried for simply doing their job.
