| Quote ="knockersbumpMKII"40k seater stadium is going to cost well in excess of £80M, look at Saints new ground, hardly what you'd call anything special and that was £25M. the KC was what £40M+ and that was 10 years ago.
He hasn't got the money nor the clout and the simple fact is city don't have a big enough fan base/draw to sustain the costs of the size of stadium the Allams would be proposing, never mind the fact that you would alienate a large proportion by moving out to melton in any case.
The risk of relegation for a relatively small team is high (IF they indeed get promoted) which would put off external backers.
It's a total non starter, the guys a gobe.'"
It'd be more cost effective for him to spend £20mill on a 20k capacity stadium for us then move us out then another £10 mill epanding the KC.........

| Quote ="Bigger Daddy"This has been brought up before. The current Premier League rules - presumably being ignored for convenience - are:
Ground Sharing
[u
I.4 - No Club shall have or enter into a ground-sharing agreement unless the agreement contains a legally enforceable provision to the effect that the playing of the Club's League Matches shall always take precedence over the activities of the other party to the agreement.
[/u
Given that Premier League football and Super League both rely heavily on Sky incomes, I'd hope that this a non-issue. As for the Allams building a new stadium in Melton, no chance.'"

Errrr...I think you'll find in our user agreement that it was written that whoever is in their main season get presedent over the other, and correct me if i'm wrong but this has been put to the test for both parties a couple of times and has been adhered to!

At least 2 major issues with that.
1. £20M don't get you jack, it might get you a cobbled together half assed stadium with a 12-14K capacity and not much else. I dont want to watch my team in a stobart/LSV or Halliwell Jones thanks.
2. Where you going to locate it that is local to the fans and has proper access/egress to those having to come by car etc. The land at Airlie street is currently not big enough and would cause major disruption for residents in building it and on matchdays.
Maybe IF the houses had had CPOs with a proposal for a stadium then it [imight[/i have been feasible.
I'm actually quite happy where we are, in fact it wouldn't bother me too much if HKR did a ground share with us. I couldn't give a flying one about city and soccer.

| Anyone who thinks we'd win in a battle with the premier league are kidding themselves. They give the premiership winners almost as much a year as the total SKY TV deal for the whole of the RFL for 3 years, and even the lowest placed team gets about £40m a year. Add in the fact that premiership football rights are the jewel in the crown for our major financial benefactors and I doubt we'd be in much of a position to fight anything

I'm still not convinced that the Premier League are that bothered about the whole ground-sharing issue, this rumour has been peddled for years by fans not the Premier League themselves.
the only club currently ground sharing are Wigan, who are currently adrift at the bottom of the league and seem to be finally on their way back down after years of struggle.

| Wouldn't mind if we moved into a new stadium if City bought the KC to be honest, as long as it's them or the council that pay for it (since we have a contract at the KC). I like the KC. I like how close it is to my house and that it's in a nice area. But I do miss terracing!
If City move out, could we convert the East Stand to terracing please? Thank in you.
If not, and they want to build us a new stadium, can it be somewhere near Cottingham Road? The pubs down there are miles better! Pearson Park will do. Pub crawl from Cottingham Road, Newland Ave, the game then Prince's Ave and town would be good for the big games!

Doesn't make a difference to me about no pubs as I don't go in them very often on game day anyways.
Just easy access for me
