To be honest, whether Washy stays or goes, I'm not that bothered. If he stays, we have a cheap, homegrown squad player, who can cover the backrow. If he goes, he's easily replaceable, perhaps from the U20's.

I don't think that I would keep Washbrook, tbh. The only position that I would play him is Loose Forward and we already have Westerman who is far far far superior to him. If Westerman isn't fit, Tickle would move there.
I also wouldn't like him as being our interchange backrower. A backrow of Manu, Tickle, Westerman, Washbrook is weaker that what we have this season (Manu, Tickle, Fitzgibbon, Westerman) and so isn't the direction that we need to be going in.
Whilst he would be adequate cover for if any of our first choice 4 became unavailable, he would presumably have too large a salary for this role.
I don't see him progressing much as a player, although he isn't bad, so I would rather this cover opportunity be given to one of the younger players - Cunningham or Green for example.

I feel sorry for Washy in all honesty as he was replaced by a modern day legend of the game and unsuccessfully spent a full pre season this year training to become a hooker.

Peter Sharp has massive hopes for him even highlighting him as a future captain of the club however I don't see a future for him but he most defiantly is a Super League standard player.

Washbrook is another example of a young player with potential wasted by this club. Moulded into the robotic and dull workman like-player that has lots of graft but no skill (hence why we do alright defensively and are awful in attack!).

Washy has been unlucky with the coach we have had in charge for the last few years. The coach preferred to play with forwards at 13 instead and Washy has been left with having to play cameo roles at halfback and hooker both of which are not his position. When he has been fortunate to play loose man he has played well. However with Westerman hopefully playing his preferred position under a new coach next season and with decent cover with Whiting I think Washy could well be looking for a new club for next season.

Atleast if he doesn't get re-signed, he knows that one-eyed moron East of the river will throw a contract at him.

Had some quality out of him '06, '07 and '08 but then we started to play a prop type player at 13 and has seen him fall away. Not a stand off or hooker. If we use him as back row cover then keep, if Agar is thinking of any other position then goodbye!
