Glad to see somebody on the same wavelength as me,Len Ditmar was there when we had nowt, and as for Terry Regan,a good hard grafting forward.

| There's no doubt we have had some really good and really bad overseas players through our club.
the Kiwis,Smith ,Sterlo etc they go without saying,I remember some of the players from when we gained promotion. Steven Holmes the fullback,I thought was a really under rated player along with David Lidiard and Gary Lester under Siggy,I know they are not in the same mould as the Greats that we have seen through our club, but at the time they did a fantastic job.Scotty Logan or as Richo called him "The Big Unit" was also a good player for us.
The greats are easy to pick out,how about picking out the players who you thought were very good but not quite great. My bet is that a lot of memories would be jogged, and a lot of " id forgotten about him" replies would follow
Thinking caps on

| In terms of the best player that did the most for us whilst here, for me it has to be Gary Kemble by a mile. The best overseas player that's pulled on the black and white is Sterlo. We've had some good ones and often the unheralded ones have really made their mark , Sid Domic is a great example in recent times whilst as others have said Tery Reagan - how hard was he?- , Adam Maher and Patrick Entat were a pleasure to watch and gave fantastic value for money.

| Wouldn't make many people's top ten in their best overseas players list but Shane McMenemy deserves a mention somewhere.

| 1) Kemble. Years of loyalty to the cause. He was also the most exciting full back I have ever seen. The most under rated of all the Kiwis (he came from Hunslet for goodness sake!!! ) yet he was awsome and never let us down. His injury in the sf cost us the final in 1985 imo.
2) Sterling. Possibly one of the greatest overseas players of all time. 2nd only due to short term contract.
3) Swain. a born winner nuff said.
4) Kearney. For me a total pleasure to watch in a Hull shirt and very under rated in terms of what he did for the club on the training pitch.
5) Smith. Gave some great service though he was clearly targetted by the oposition. But in terms of the modern game he never took a backward step.

Watched the road to cardiff DVD yesterday and he was outstanding in the cup run. His kicking and defence were second to none. Very underated player although not good enough to get in an all star overseas team.

| Our best ever overseas player was Peter Sterling. Simply the best. Along with Knocker the two greatest players I've seen in my lifetime. For those who were too young to have witnessed the master in action (or who possibly weren't even born, so long ago it is now) Just think Andrew Johns or Darren Lockyer (at their majestic peaks) in a black & white shirt and you'll get some idea of the impact Sterlo made on our club in just 36 all too short games.
Greatest value for money was Gary Kemble. As someone said earlier, he arrived as the unheralded one of the Kiwi trio and ended up as the best one. Faultless performances week in week out. For the younger fans out there, who wonder why people of my generation venerate him so much, Billy Slater is Kemble's secret love child, his modern day son and heir.
Most underated overseas signing (and one I haven't seen mentioned yet, rather surprisingly) is Craig Coleman (1988-89). Brought over by Brian Smith, he struck up an instant and highly effective partnership with Gary Pearce which was instrumental in turning a dysfunctional bottom four side into a highly organized and disciplined top four side with a fantastic work ethic throughout the side. A team that punched above its collective weight with Coleman pulling the strings in the middle.
