| First time we've had two from two since 2006. After that we lost four out of the next five which led to Kear's sacking.
In 2001 we started WWDWW so if we win on Friday it'll be our best start to the season since 1997 in Division 1.

| I was in the scuffle trying to break it up.
A few sly digs from behind from some big fella even though I was trying to do some good. Don't like to see it at the rugby league as in my opinion it doesn't belong there.
The FC fan who started it came across and told me on 3 occasions 'I'm gonna F'cking do you!'. First time I laughed as I thought he was on a wind up. By the third time I realised he was serious and was getting a bit pi$$ed off with it and told his mate to move him away as I was as far down the terrace as I could and as a home fan wanted to stand there. Anyway a few seconds later I turn around to see the same fella starting something about 5 foot behind me and pushed the bloke who was starting everything backwards away from it by his chest. Think he got lobbed out a bit later and went on his warpath to 'do someone' . A flash in the pan and handbags. I for one didn't throw a punch but the few sly digs I had to the back of the head from some sly FC fans weren't too welcome. I will stress that my looks, what little I still have, have not been damaged as a result.
Other than that a very good day/night was had and the other FC fans I did meet were great especially the two who kept getting us to sing Welsh songs in the club bar.

Tbf against them it was a good idea to go in with 4 forwards........would have Washbrook in at 13 and hall on the bench and possibly another prop in place of Houghton,if he isnt needed.

| the problem is with berro, thorman & horne dictating play, washy looked a bit lost when he was on, this needs to be addressed by agar & sharp in what systems we play. one prop on the bench? well we have the luxury in having 2 props in dowes & cusack who get better and more effective as the game goes on and the more time they stay out there so in some games i think we can getaway with one prop benching.
as for the titbrain fc fan who was fightin, what was all that about? knockin back sambucas (apparently) for the sake of it before a rugby game is just well, a waste of bloody good sambuca to me. felt sorry for the cc fan who got the brunt cos he had no where to turn until his mate got him away. the fc was rightly hoyed out the ground by the stewards.
otherwise a good followin from hull, difficult to put a figure on it but around a quarter of the crowd i would say. would look forward to a summer game there next year and have a few days down in the valleys, akki dak!

Not well IMO.
Thacks and Manu offered very little when they came on. Disappointed with both TBH.
Washy was OK given that his first spell was at SO as we re-jigged when Skinny went off. Broke a few tackles and was generally solid in defence.
Houghton was OK for his first run out. Some good scoots from DH and solid defence. Didn't command the game like Berro was doing, but that's hardly a surprise.

I didn't go so can't comment on last night's match other than other than what other people have posted, however my overall impression after the wigan game was that things were no different from last year other than we had a better goal line defence, our kicking game was marginally better (other than when dykes was fit and his kicking game was head and shoulders above Horne's and Thorman's) and we seemed fitter. Other than that we had the same deficiencies - opposition making too many easy yards upfied, forwards not big enough to make much of an impact, slow PTB from most of the team, no direction in attack, poor last tackle options, no dummy runners, and a whole host of other issues.
2 wins is a good start but to be fair we've played a wigan team who have lost 2 home games against sides likely to be in the bottom 4 and struggled to finish off the side who everyone expects to be 14th at the end of the season. Still a long way to go to convince me that the squad is playing to it's undoubted potential and I fear teh worst for Friday having seen the cats steam roller warrington last night

The point is that we should have known that and yet it still seemed to take us by surprise. We stood off them and let them play the game to their strengths rather than close them down early.
For large parts of the game we looked exactly like last year's team.

Agree with all that. Manu made a couple of good runs but his fitness levels don't seem to be up with the others. Thackray made little impact. Washy looks to have bulked up maybe a bit too much. Houghton did look a bit rusty but needs some gametime.
Funny how things pan out - Dowes, Tickle, Cusack and Byrne the best players in the first 2 games. All the players that were labelled average at best last year.
On another point, I have to say the away strip hasn't grown on me at all and looks awful on the players. Most girly kit ever.

Wait until it's been on The Super League show and this lot will be full of 'it'.
Primarily it [iis[/i (right now) the same team, barring; Thorman= for me our main addition to the team, Calderwood=a winger, a position Hull Fc tend not to utilise to the maximum.
For me the main benefit we'll see this season is having a settled team,(hopefully) rather than an outstanding one.

| 99.9% of hull fans were great. Best supporters around but one mindless idiot wanted to do someone before he went home. His friends seemed to give the impression that he does it all the time. If anyone knows who he is then they should leave him at home before he causes someone ( and the club ) some real damage.

| I have to say I am somewhat surprised by many of the comments on here to be honest and some are very justified..
My Opinion is...
Sat directly opposite the FC stand right in the middle of the Crusaders fans in the seating with my little boy and was treated with respect and made a few friends to be honest, from start to finish I found the South Wales lot as I always find them, very very friendly, love their rugby, great banter WITH NO SWEARING BECAUSE OF THE KIDS AND LADIES , one of them even brought my lad a hot dog & a can of pop without even asking if he wanted one and the end of the match was met by at least a dozen sat around me all saying thanks for coming to Bridgend and asking questions about where to stay in hull etc for the return match !! and then ended up going for a Curry in the town with them and their little lad too.
Now that is what rugby should be!!
I didnt go into the FC area for the simple reason I have found more and more that there is that element of thuggery creaping back into our away support , too much aggression towards away support, always the same faces too!!
AND when oh when are we going to stop singing the shoot the rovers scum song at every single match!! there were folk around me whom thought the song was directed at them!!!
very sad and mindless.
Overall i thought the ground was grass roots but learning, well run and friendly, stewards were excellent, Police outside ALL used sir and madam when adressing fans leaving all in all a great night out!
Hope the prats that got ejected were also arrested!!, they should also then shame and name them in the HDM and ban them from the KC.
sorry to go on but we had a great weekend

He had a few swings at me as I said earlier and I'm not being funny here but he could have hit me all night and I'd have still been on my feet. If you talk the talk then walk the walk. This fella sadly seems to be an @rse who can't back it up.
He'll come a cropper one day as he obviously can't look after himself too well but certainly would be the kind of person to get trouble most places. I wasn't prepared to fight the t!t in the ground as in my eyes that would have been being as bad as him i.e starting on people for nothing when women and kids are about. I was with my g/f for f**k sake.
I'd love to meet the fella on his own though and see how big and mouthy he is if he was away from his mates. See if his powder puff punches were any better without his mates helping him with the sly digs.
As I've said on our site and earlier in this one too the rest of your fans were top class and thanks for adding to what was a decent day on and off the field other than the incident talked about above.
Just to say at first I thought he may have thought I was a Hull fan he had some trouble with previously as walking up to someone in a ground and saying 'I'm going to f@cking do you' is a bit of a weird thing to do and I laughed at first as I thought he was on a wind up. He was that ridiculous.
I think the lad got carted out and in a way I'm glad it was me as the missus was quite understanding considering and if it wasn't me and my dad then it could quite possibly have been a dad with his kid and it may have been a lot worse. He was taken away by the police I'm certain of it as I saw him with his Hull shirt and flag wrapped around him as I made my way to get us some drinks.
I'm not going to let it tarnish my opinion of Hull FC fans in general though as I have enjoyed many a good craic and drink with you lot at Challenge Cup, Grand Final and Millennium Magic events and long may it continue.

No probs.
When it comes down to it you can't physically stop d!ckheads going if they so choose.
Hopefully we'll upgrade facilities by the time you come down next time. Let's hope so. We can't all have shiny new stadiums though.
