Thought it was his best game for us. I've criticised him a few times this year, but he showed his worth last night.

Catalans ripped us apart down our right in Perpignan as much as they did tonight with Michaels on the wing in place of Fonua.

Im also thinking about the Wakey game aswell, we are getting away with it currently, but we need to change the right sided defence or it will cost us a game soon.

Think 10/11 try's the last two games have been on the right.

I don't particularly think it's an individual player's fault but more of a system failure (apart from one Pryce error were Fonua gave him a round of the kitchen last night)
We are far too condensed when defending and our sliding defence is caught out time and time again when the ball is moved with pace. Most teams attacking strength is down the left which isn't helping the right side issue.
Last night the biggest problem for me was our ill discipline and the fact we continued to invite Catalan down into our 20.
If not for that I believe the game would have been won comfortably.

Never made anything up. The glorious in defeat comment refers to the many who still hark back to the 1985 cup final. Great game to have been at, fantastic for the he neutral, but I don't feel the need to repeatedly watch a game we lost. Fonua needs dropping for Logan. Logan himself was dropped for less. Naughton comes in because he knows he can't trust his centre. Fonua is a winger, he should play there or not at all.

We should always be looking to improve. The moment we stand still and 'enjoy the ride' we start going backwards.

Improve? Yes, but singling players out for critiscism? No. I know it happens at our club far too often and has become the norm, hell, Casey did it regularly, thankfully he fell on his own sword. Adult discussion and enjoying the ride for me everytime

Look at the tries. Not a single 1 was Fonuas doing. Logan as you say struggled there. Michaels got grief on the right.
It's a system failure n not and individuals fault. I certainly wouldn't want to lose Fonuas carries in that 2nd when times were tough

I don't agree at all and certainly see Fonua as the major reason we've conceded so much down that side in the last two games. He shoots out the line far too quickly and leaves a massive gap between him and his winger. Even when we line up as they play the ball he's too far inside on most occasions.
That side and the system can only be as strong as it's weakest link and Fonua has been very weak positionally and his defensive reads at centre are awful.
Naughton switching sides hasn't helped him and I certainly have him at fault for one of the tries down that side last night. If Naughton gets dropped for Micheals before Fonua it will be an injustice to the kid.

Just watch the tries. Not 1 can be attributed to him. 2 outside of the winger. 1 naughton should of just been a bit tighter to sideline. Other that whole side didn't shift over.
