Maybe an academy game in Selby would be a nice idea also.

| Like the idea of the old crest on the shirt. Would love to play the Kiwis or Aussies at KC.

But isn't the current badge the original "old" crest (apart from a white star)? I hope you don't mean the "coat of arms" crest with the lions either side of it. You know, the one with the humber bridge on it!?

No, the first the Hull FC kit was scarlet and white stripes. This changed to black shirts and white shorts after the merger with Hull White Star (who played in a black shirt with a white star), followed by a brief move to cherry and white stripes, then back to all black shirts.
Hull moved to irregular black and white stripes around 1908, probably based on the Australian design of blue and maroon irregular stripes.

We actually where nicknamed 'The All Blacks' from the all black strip.
First ground was on Craven street, East Hull (around Mount Pleasant Asda area, before purchasing the Boulevard)

Excellent distinction Sir!
Quite enjoyed this thread, don't really know much about the history of your club.

So you are saying we should celebrate the anniversary of our forming by using a crest that originated in a fan's competition in the 80's??
Whilst I like the crest it's hardly traditional and going back to our roots!!

| The jersey idea is a cracking idea....
four nations warm up against any touring side ...class
OR a veterans match against a veterans touring side for charity!!! now that would be an awesome pre match and fill it to the rafters

Well the bridge was only built in '81 so that's a bit of a giveaway that your crest isn't very old.

I think craven street was about the 3rd/4th ground. think we originally started in the grounds of hesslewood hall (although it may have been somewhere called woodgates hall, can't remember). Believe we also played in selby and somewhere else in east hull before craven street. Then we offered twice what rovers could afford in rent at the boulevard so they got kicked out and we bought the stadium shortly after. The dobbins moved across to replace us at craven street

Good point! To be honest, I've never really took any notice of what is actually on the crest. Having never really known it is a crest of Hull I've just known it as 'the old one'.
Anyone got a picture of the original??

Yes, it was at Woodgates Hall in North Ferriby. We later rented a ground near the Londesborough Arms in Selby.
Subsequent grounds were in Londesborough Street in Hull, Haworth Arms field in the Newland area then Anlaby Road where West Park is now before the move to East Hull.

In addition to winning the Double, we should also look at defending the BBC2 Floodlit Trophy. By 2015, we'll have held it for 36 years, so it's only fair we give someone else a chance and if we win we can claim a Domestic Treble!
