Listening to Eddie and Stevo about Tomkins is like going back in time and listening to the going on about Mcguire for Leeds, as soon as any young player comes on the scene that can do something a little different they are all over them!! He is a great player and may only get better, however he is still young and nobody knows how much better he will get or if this is as good as he will ever be!

IMO there's only Tomkins, Roby and probably Chase that the Aussie teams would want from S/L, Tomkins is quality, and will get better as he's still very young, It's hard to compare him to the likes of Edwards, Hanley and Gregory because they had played for so long and done so much but I reckon Tomkins will be up there with them in time.

If only he wasn't such a cheating lol.

Hull had a look at Shenton, until they saw that he was on 120k. They said they would look again if he would consider accepting 60k. We dont need another centre, with Arundel coming in, Crooks looks like he can make the grade at S.L level.

From what I heard Cronulla had an offer on the table for him ready to sign should he have wanted.

Crooks has a big chance over the next few games to prove that he is capable of being a first choice centre next season.

If he isn't ready we have the options of either looking at a long-term prospect (such as Arundel) or getting an older 'big name' from the NRL and hope Crooks makes it in a year or two's time.

Just can't see the Finch rumour being true, much as I'd love it to be. He's playing great for the best team in the competition who are very clear they want to keep him. Unless we pay him a fortune, just don't see why he'd entertain a move. Quality rumour but [uvery[/u remote possibility.
