Really pains me to see you guys not fulfilling your potential as a club. Great club, great ground, great fans, great marketing, and you're imo being let down by an average coach.

Madge for us (Wigan) has made such a huge difference to our performances, but also the players attitudes and mindsets. Talk to any of our players, and you'll quickly find out what a huge difference the right coach makes. Best piece of business Lenaghan has ever done.

I really hope you can find the right man to deliver on your potential, I just really don't see that Agar is that man sadly.

It genuinely is sickening to come on here and read the usual suspects sticking up for Agar.. Guys you were wrong about him, he's embarressed you and more importantly we are now undoubtedly the city's second team. Those of you who still support him or even claim to be 'undecided' are as big a part of the cancer as he is.

Not sure what you base that on. Last off season we got pretty much everyone we went after. This season is tougher and we've missed a couple of targets, but you won't win them all.

If agar had been in charge of leeds, saints, wire, hudds or wigan, does anyone think they would have played the same brand of rugby they have this season and finished where they have?

In a results business does finishing 6th and losing in the 1st round of the playoffs count as success? (with his own players)

I'm not sure if that's a pop at Agar or defending him TBH. Are you saying the other clubs wouldn't stand for it, or that it's down to the players we have here that dictate our dour rugby?

I'd put the blame 50/50. Our lack of enthusiasm last night was shocking.

Given that six out of the thirteen other clubs will have done better than us I would say not. It's an improvement on the last two seasons although that was not difficult to achieve.

Success is probably stretching it a bit far. If we'd won one play-off game I'd have been more inclined to call it a success, but going out at the first hurdle has basically put us on the same pedestal as Crusaders. It's a success for them as they're new to the game, but for us I'd say it's the bare minimum of an ok season.

Every time i mentioned Agar not been good enough i was told by many on here to judge him on results at the end of the season. I still dont think he's the man for the job.

I'm baffled as to why we've played teams down the middle most of the season to a decent standard and then last night from minute 1 we shifted the ball to the fringes.

I'm also still baffled why Moa only gets 2x10min spells.

Is Agar the right man to move us forward next year?

Absolutely not.

I've personally had a gut full of Agar. I think he comes across as a dull & boring soul who lacks character. I personally struggle to see how he could inspire anybody to do anything other than slash their wrists.

As with most things in this world, you get what you pay for. Our club only seem willing to pay enough money to get an average, run of the mill coach, and that is exactly what we have got.

And that's something that has happened too many times this season. Something that is really inexcusable must be fixed immediately.

I don't know what he says in his half time team talks but our second half performances this season have been largely woeful.

In 29 games we have scored more than 12 second half points just 9 times and scored 6 points or less SIXTEEN times.

At 0-12 last night at half time I knew the game was up. Agar might be good at selling the club to players but his motivation skills appear to be poor in the extreme.

We did go back to one out rugby in the 2nd half again though for large spells.



You and me both. I said on another thread, both he and Lauaki have tended to still look reasonably fresh when they've been taken off this season, I think we could get more game time out of both.

We may move forward a bit more, but if you're asking whether I think he can progress us far enough, then no, I'm not convinced.

I don't think we were that bad last night we had enough chances to win the game, more than they did but they took their chances and we never.

Their defence won them the game.

I agree with bits and pieces of what a lot of people have said . I think it has being a improvement on last season and so it should be with better players . What worries me is I can't see where the improvement will be next year , we need a half and a prop but who's available who would add to our side rather than just adding for the sake of it . 2012 like Paul M said will be the big year for recruitment but you can't just dismiss a year and fall behind teams again who have strengthend. We have got some good players but then the rest of the team are made up of very average players . Just feel the club needs to make a sign of intent go and get a couple of good players who would add to our team .As for Agar I feel is he someone who will get us silverware I can't see it at all very much like the warrington situation before they got Tony Smith

With the salary cap (providing all clubs adhere to it) a squad will always have "average" players. Its (should be) impossible to have 25 star men in a squad. The big question then is what do you achieve with the average players.

A good coach will turn the average into above average and the star men will thrive on them. The last time that actually happened with a Hull FC team was under Brian Smith. He managed to do it consistantly. Other coaches such as Kear have been able to do on the odd game. see the 2005 cup campaign.
With a proper salary cap it is vitally important we have a coach who does a Smithy.

Agar is not that man.

Far too often this season players have failed to turn up and perform and whilst that is down to the individual as much as anything else. Its also a collective problem and that starts from the headman. Given so many players rate Agar I find it very difficult to appreciate that on so many occassions they have failed to put their bodies on the line for him. I have worked under many bosses in my life and the ones I respected always got 100% from me. I don't see that happening at Hull FC and that for me is a big problem which has to be resolved in the coming months and not in 12 months time when we have failed to deliver anything meaningful again.
