I don't think there are any ready-made who would be realistically available. I just don't think that's reason to blow money on players for the short term, we'd be better served bringing in those with potential and hopefully developing to the required level along with our own in the 20s.

Yes we know everyone wants Agar gone but we are not in the position or an attractive club to just say come and sign for us ...Ive got a feeling we have paid over the odds for certain players already what has held us back on the salary cap. The fact of the matter is until we start winning things or at least get to finals on a consistent basis then we will have to pay for players who are in contract or competing for when they are out of contract. The club are not going to just give one of there quality assets for nothing. There doesnt seem much quality out of contract so that just leaves getting the cheque book out and buying the players u need. We need quality players ready to go now not in 4-5 years that is what our academy is supposed to be for. If we can get good quality youngsters or players around the 25 years old region then fine im all for that but many people dont seem to have a clue who we could realistically get. hence why I mentioned a few older brigade who would certainly do us a cracking job for 2 years while we bring youngsters threw or replace them with other talent.

I just don't think that competing for a final next year is such a priority that we need to make expensive short term signings. Your stance seems to see Pearson as some sort of sugar daddy who will fritter away money on unwise/overpriced purchases. All that will achieve is to quickly garner us a reputation as mugs, and clubs/agents/players will then inflate their demands to us because they'll see us as a soft touch for extra cash.

If we had a few more younger players in our pack I'd be more inclined to agree with you, but 2 year wonders are not what we need most ATM, we need more scope for continuity IMO. Tickle and Westerman are the only forwards we have contracted beyond next year, IMO we've made a right mess of things having so many players in the same positions come out of contract at the same time. Radford, Dowes (if he stays), O'Meley, and Manu will all be over 30 when their deals expire, it's more than possible that more than 1 of them will retire, and I reckon Moa is off back to the NRL. We can't possibly develop enough players in house to build a full pack in time, so we need some longer term signings.
