Have to disagree there Kosh. He was excellent at 6 against Cas at home and Quins at home last year.
It's hardly surprising he's inconsistent being moved around a lot. He's still a young kid and has all the attributes to be a very good 6.
An enforced extended run at 6 early doors this season will have you changing your mind, I'm sure.

I remember him having a good game there last season at home. However when you look at the players who have played there and not done well it makes you think there are other reasons they all look pretty poor in that position.
It would help if forwards were giving them more options but a single man running onto the ball means options are limited the majority of the time. Also the speed with which we tend to move the ball about means defences are finding it easy to defend against us.

Westerman will certainly help with dummy running, fitz is capable of it too.
Houghtons distribution off the floor has sped up so this will help with speed, as will having Long and Turner going at the line when timing is more important than speed of passing. Also noticed we were coming onto the ball from deeper against Cas.

I think what makes the situation more infuriating is the fact that we have some real quality in the squad: - O'Meley, Long, Manu and Briscoe etc.

and the fact is if we have injuries in pivotal positions where there is no cover then we will sink down the league table. just 2 or 3 signings would make soooooo much difference and this is what's annoying about the whole thing

Berrigan left us late on in pre season and no one could have predicted Nicklas' injury. That's two players that had key roles to play dropping out very late. Had we known around summer time that Berrigan was going to leave we would have probably been able to bring someone in, but pickings are slim and you can't just expect to throw money at players and for them to come running.

Fwiw I reckon Tansey will stay and if the only other option is to sign Phelps then I think it's the right decision. Phelps is a very avarage player to be wasting a quota space on.
