As i said 650 MPs is only the tip of the iceberg. If you look at reducing wastage in most public services by even 5% you'd probably save the tax payer 5-6billion per year. There's far bigger issues than central government... mainly incompetence running through senior levels of public service/sector bodies.

No twisting of words by me - read what I put -Odd at 29 I thought I was reading A Victor Meldrew article - I just picked out all the things that you kept coming back with - You seem to think that just because you have a job you can put people down - well hello the Majority have jobs and as some-one who is a little older you may find one day that you need - maybe only for a short time- to rely on the State to keep you afloat Even though the NHS does not appear to be good enough for you I can assure you that one day you will need it! Why say if you could afford it you would leave this country. If you have a skill you can go anywhere and at 29 the world is your oyster but be careful which country you go to because you may be accused of taking the jobs and houses of locals.

Worst thing I saw when all of the info came out about the financial mess was that the maximum housing benefit payment was about £104k a year. Fortunately the tories are reducing it to about £500 a month I think. My proposals would be:

The only issue I have with the current system (other than fraud) is that we are paying perfectly healthy people to sit on their asses whilst businesses are having to bring in foreign workers to do the low paid, menial work that no one wants to do. People who are claiming benefits should either find work IMO or do some kind of community work like cleaning the streets for their money

Because if there are jobs within our society that need doing, they should be done by people employed by the state on a fair wage and with the same conditions as every other public sector employee. Otherwise, why not just sack all the roadsweepers, dustmen etc and make the unemployed do those jobs for £60 a week? That would save us loads of money, wouldn't it? But you said people who use a walking stick can have a desk job? I use a walking stick on occasion as well as a mobility scooter but I can't sit for long periods. You can't judge what a disabled person can or cannot do just by what mobility aids they use.

Hang on a minute, at no point has anyone referred to you, they are talking about the people working the system, and you know as well as I do that there are a number of them.

As i have said, people are taking things too 'black and white' and far too literally. We know you have a genuine condition and NOTHING of what i've said has been anything to do with you. As i have also said, i have no problem at all with you receiving the care you get or the further care you require.

My problem is people that pretend they've hurt their back or play on minor injuries to keep themselves deliberatley out of work as they can earn more than they do when working.
