I'm not advocating it (although it is something that might be worth a go), just pointing out that it was years before Berrigan settled into a full-time role at centre, and that then only lasted 3-4 years.

Berrigan will excel in the halves, centres or hooker as he is a world class player.

Centre/Halves would be an option if Lee carries on playing well and if Houghton improves too. The only problem with him at centre is he could gets starved of possession so he may get wasted out there but it is an option.

For Brisbane he excelled in all three positions so he is certainly proven.

Nope, he started his career for the first 4 or 5 seasons as a 20 try a season centre.

Arguable whether 9 is his best position on this seasons evidence.

1999-2004 mate with the occasional game in the halves and at hooker.

Playing there and making it are 2 different things!! He has showed no sign of being a 7 to me at all and has admitted himself he doesnt want to play there and doesnt like it.

With Tommy & Danny being decent hookers that can spell each other. It does make sense to use berrigan as a utility especially with our shortage of backs.

I'd see him as a first choice right centre until we get better, as you say with Lee playing so well.

Spot on IMO it makes sense to have more ball handling players on the pitch if we are wanting to be more expansive.

Nope. He's never had a 20 try season. His best return was in 2005, with 19. Prior to that, his best was 10 in both '02 and '03. He settled at centre in, I think, 2003, with him being used mainly off the bench before that, often coming on at half.
