Both kicks for Warrington tries were very tight for off-side, particularly the second one, but I'm biased.

My issues with Child's refereeing wasn't the penalties that he did give but the amount of things that he missed and the effects that they had on the game.

One big example is the build up to Shaul's sinbinning. Shaul's actions were worthy of being binned, yes, but the only reason Ratchford was able to make that break was due to Ben Crooks being obstructed by a Warrington player pushing into him and so he couldn't get to Ratchford and the gap was created.
It should've been a penalty to Hull 10 metres away from Warrington's line but both the referee and the assistants missed this and it ended up with Hull being a man less for 10 minutes. That's a game-changing swing.

Also wasn't pleased with the double standard when Horne was sent from the field to receive treatment, putting us a man down when desperately defending our own line, whereas the game was stopped for a Warrington player (Waterhouse?) to receive the same treatment.

I think that Warrington were the better side overall but just fed up of coming away from the games with the referee being one of the main talking points.

In short Wire were rubbish, Hull were rubbish and the ref was rubbish, we were a last minute in the half penalty better than you. We couldn't unlock a gate with instructions on it and you loved giving us as many penalties as you could.

Surprised the media haven't been going crazy about the fact Houghton made 66 tackles missing none. Just like they did when Peacock made 60.

The refereeing was bad but it was our indiscipline and poor decision making which cost us the game, not the refereeing.

cullen certainly lauded wires defence, brown nosing to the hilt and not a mention of our defence or houghtons tackling on SL Fulltime!

Houghton isn't a pensioner

A number of things cost us the game, including the refereeing. With a 2 point margin it only takes a relatively minor contribution from any one factor.

Few on here (apart from me

) mentioned him either. Fashionable to knock him, but his outstanding work rate allows forwards to pack more punch. Looked full of zip on Sunday, and we looked better with both him and Azza on the field.

The Waterhouse try was shocking by Pitts and Houghton both going the wrong way after clearing the ruck. It's daft little things like that which we need to smarten up with.

I do need to hold my hands up and say Westerman at 13 is really making a big difference to our attack though. Long may it continue.

I have been a critic of Westy for a couple of seasons but think he has been great up to now.

it`s time childs was dropped down a league or two,untill he can prove he is worthy of reffing a super league game.

Always been a fan of Houghton but must admit I wasn't that impressed with him from the first two games of the season and thought we looked a lot better with Heremeia at hooker. He was back to his best though on Sunday and rightly deserves the plaudits.
