I've not seen Turner this pre-season but from what i saw last year i would strongly disagree about his running game and i've not seen any evidence of his passing or kicking game. What i did see was Horne hit his straps early in the year and look like the Horne of old before his new injury.
Horne every time for me when fit.

From what I've seen of Turner we should not have to rush Horne back from his injury. But i remember Horne showing some really good form before his injury and i'm with you mate, when fully fit, Horne every time!

After seeing Turner in both pre season games he has done a fair job considering but when/if (big IF) Hornes is fit I would have Horne in over Turner unless Turner really starts to excel at 6 in the coming weeks.
For me just think a fit Horne on form has more to offer at 6 alongside Long than Turner, but now is the time for Turner to grab his opportunity and make the position his.

| Phelps is DESPERATE to play for anyone whether in the NRL or Super League, so nobody has shown any interest in him, surely he must be the last option if Chase and Sammut deals aren't going anywhere? Wouldn't offer Phelps a deal unless there is no chance of Sammut or Chase

I agree Horne is first choice when fully fit and the good form of Turner means we do not need to rush Horne back either or more importantly play him when injured.
Turner while still looking a bit raw with his distribution looks to me like he could cause havoc if he backs his running game more.
Most important thing is that both Turner and Horne are playing alongside a proper number 7.

Turner is alot stronger in defence than Horne, if he can sort out his distribution would pick Turner first

I don't think his defence is the best part of his game imo.

Have to agree. I would put Horne at fullback when he is fit to return and move Whiting back to centre.

| I remember when we signed him he said he wants to play 6. I would have thought long term he will play 6 or in the centres. I just hope he nails down a spot rather than get messed around in different positions
with good coaching i think Turner could be an excellent stand off

| I've been impressed by Turner in the two pre-season friendlies and hope he can maintain the same level of performance.
I thought Whiting was awesome at FB v Cas.

I'd have said long term he needs to play centre or 13 based on what i've seen of his core skills.

I was mocked by most last season for saying that...the kid has a lot of potential, strong, fast and decent hands hope he does well and grasps his opportnuity it will be a while before Horney is back anyway he is not even doing contact training yet.
he also represented GB under 18s at stand-off

i agree he could be a good 13 but i'm not convinced about him at centre. I just think he might have more potential playing at 6 or 13. only problem with 13 is that long-term we have Westerman & Washbrook
it's a shame because 13 could be his better position and I can't see it happening for him there

He got a shot at 6 and didn't impress at all. His best games were at centre, but he was inconsistent.
Hope he carries his form in the friendlies through into the season. Horne looks to be a few weeks off fitness and it would do no harm at all for him to have competition for the 6 spot once he's properly fit.

Totally agree with that, it is what most players need, and knowing Rich he will thrive on competition, best result for us all round.

I don't think he wasn't playing alongside Long and I don't think he was played at 6. from what I remember he was played at 7 and he didn't do anything wrong; he just didn't do anything particularly good

From the way Horne walked up onto the stage to collect his shirt last night I'd say he's nowhere near fit.

| If Phelps comes, put him at FB and allow Whiting to go back into the centres and Turner to cover 6 until Horney is back.
If Sammut comes, put him in the halves, keep Whiting at FB, Turner in the centre. When Horney is fit, put Sammut at FB, Whiting in the centre, Turner covering.

Not limping when walking across the floor but he stepped up and down from the stage a bit gingerly and it wasn't that high.

| Why do we have to move player round to accommodate Horne? Agar should have been preparing for a season without Horne with anything else being a bonus. Horne should not just walk back into a starting position. Put him on the bench to spell a few players, but if it aint broke, dont fix it!
