A while to go yet, but 2015 is our club's 150th anniversary (any dobbins fans who dispute this have well and truly taken the bait).

So what do we think the club should be looking to do to commemorate it?

Retro shirt for me from the very early days, and a big celebration including lots of ex players

Would also be good if we can get some kind of exhibition game that season, maybe against a touring side if there are any coming over

Certainly worth celebrating. We are amongst the oldest football clubs of any code in the world.

Shirt idea is the obvious one and I like the thought of a big game - I think the Four Nations will be in England in 2015 so how about a game against Australia.

Season passes for £150. Or better still, 3d or whatever they were in 1865.

Maybe we could move back to our east hull roots

Or better still, how about the New Zealand All Golds?

Wasn't the club founded in Selby?

A Super League and Challenge Cup winning double would be fitting.

Oh and Ben Crooks Man Of Steel.

A game against Australia or NZ at the KC would be the best celebration IMO

Certainly played in selby but I had thought they'd moved there from Hull but not sure

First home ground was in North Ferriby but the club then rented a ground in Selby before moving to a ground in Londesborough Street in Hull.

The kit should have the original club crest for that season.

As well as a rep match I think the club could do a past players & fans day. Getting as many old boys especially any still alive who played in the great teams of the 1950s though any player who pulled on the famous black & white jersey would be welcomed and applauded (well almost most, mention no names..you know who you are, cough cough

)

Some old footage on a massive screen playing in the background and sort some old photos of the past players to get printed off & old games copied onto DVDs for the young uns as well as the oldies to cherish


With a bit of luck & a strong wind we could have some silverware on show which would cap it off for fans to have photos taken with, what about digging out the trophies such as the old old championship, 1st division, John player/Yorkshire cups (not sure where they reside mind)

Shirt wise I'd love to have a match weight double stitched replica of the early to mid 80s Umbro collarless shirt or the 50s one with the massive badge on it.

All in all it should be a massive tribute/celebration for the club & all the players that ever played for us but also something big for the fans too for whom so much is owed and for the oft unwavering support in any kind of weather.

I emailed the Club 18 months ago on this and had an encouraging email from Mr flatman who said they did intend to celebrate it BIG. I emailed so early as I had thought of a TEST match at KC or Hull FC v Australia as it would need 5 years organising etc. he advised to watch this space

Given the personnel changes this week, it might be worth another email

Some say that it was founded in the vestry of St Mary's church Lowgate or ar least thats where the idea started but they did play at Selby because it was closer to the West Riding teams.

I am sure we first started off playing in red and white hoops.

I was a shareholder and the Club I knew died when Shane Richardson closed it down and my shares went BANG ! should have bought a £1000 lifetime pass instead ! However I still acknowledge 150 years of Hull RLFC

Winning our third consecutive GF will be celebration enough.

A shirt and game against Australia would be great.

I would prefer to see the New Zealanders come over and play us to be honest - they played in the last game at the Boulevard and through the Kemble, O'Hara, Leuluai and Kearney links i think we have a closer affinity to them than to the Aussies

Maybe an academy game in Selby would be a nice idea also.

Could get Stanley Gene to sort a team out, he played as a trialist in the very first year

But isn't the current badge the original "old" crest (apart from a white star)? I hope you don't mean the "coat of arms" crest with the lions either side of it. You know, the one with the humber bridge on it!?
