So the Ellis family are twice as rich as Ken Davy then.....obviously not Trinity's money but it's nice to know that Matt has a bob or two to tap into when he fancies splashing the cash

Well yes and no. Davy's money was all his, and was all cash not assets. I think the Ellis money will be split four ways at a guess, and as I say much of it will be assets. We just have to hope the other family members share Matts enthusiasm. I know they appear on the clubs BOD, or someone said they did, so looking good.

I also read an article recently that the Ellis family business is already on course for a massive increase in profits this financial year. I think they also like to reinvest a lot of profits back into the company, rather than borrowing money. They still though, i would expect, be a little bit better off this coming year.

To be honest, we are not making a big dent in that number really.
It's massive numbers in rugby league terms but hopefully he can make the club self sufficient so his money is for the marquee signings rather than keeping us afloat.

Let's see how it goes. We had a millionaire owner rescue us before, in 2011, and that was fun for a couple of years, and we got a franchise and a couple of roofs, but it was a mess in the end.

I could have sworn blind that Matt's dad should have some enthusiasm for the project, as he's one of the shareholders with Matt, from what I recall reading it.

I understand where you're coming from but just from a financial aspect what Ellis and family is worth is night and day compared to the Glovers, although only Andrew got involved.

It's not really the amount if money they are worth that counts once you've got passed the first few million.
It's the time they are willing to commit and what percentage of the money they allocate to the club.

I'm pretty happy with what Ellis has said and done so far. Excited to see where it goes.

The money committed to the club must be I think already a huge number. It must be around 6 million and that is a real and serious commitment and I doubt that does not cover the improvements to the ground and facilities that Matt has already started on.
