Let's start with the TV deal which was supposed to be agreed by now but hasn't because its probably less than the current one
They have put an end to exciting relegation battles like the one this season ( would the CAS game be a sell out despite being on TV if nothing depended on it ? )
Relegation decision by committee where a big screen and electronic advertising boards count more than thriving academies and community involvement.
But...
If we are allowed to stay in superleague i suppose we can look forwards to 2 points every time we play Warrington when their overpaid marquee players can't be asked to put any effort in because they can't be relegated.

There is nothing wrong with trying to improve standards on and off the pitch which the IMG points system is trying to do but when clubs have no money and businesses are reluctant to invest because of the economic climate its almost impossible.

That’s one of the reasons why Sky aren’t so interested or value our game with a bigger payout, Sky have always said they wanted the end of season drama of relegation games, and why not, we’ve seen some dramatic finishes over the years between various clubs. IMG not for me.

Your last line is exactly the point.
If there is no consequence to not finding investment or making improvements then teams won't do it.

To market the game, the game needs to be more marketable.....and that is what they are doing.

When the TV deal is eventually revelealed to be less than the current one will people still be saying IMG /grading /doing away with relegation etc are on the right track?

Sky are losing subscribers because people cannot afford the subscription not because Rugby League needs to be more marketable

If IMG can find a new broadcaster then I’m all for that. Balls to Sky.

And how do you know the TV deal will be less?

Sky have a problem retaining live coverage of several sports so I doubt they would want to lose RL but I guess time will tell.
