| Disgusting,
A Johnny come lately compared with many who’ve supported or been involved with Trinity for 50 or 60 years longer than he has so who is he to preach that relegation is a good thing for the club!
I’m absolutely fuming at this statement, no wonder there’s no fight or desire when the CEO has said it’s OK to lose and see us drop a division.
He wasn’t around when we were a poor mid table 2nd Division team and he wasn’t there when we romped through the season as League Champions followed by being Crowned Grand Final Winners and he doesn’t know the struggle that people went through to defy the RFL & SLE to claim our rightful place in the top tier, a place hard earned on the training field and hard won on match days. He certainly doesn’t know how that team bonded with the fans to create an amazing experience throughout the season with Fuller, Casey, Bostock, Southernwood, Hughes, Fisher etc singing “ I know what and who I am” with the fans.
That he should so meekly and feebly accept relegation without an ounce of effort or a semblance of backbone is sickening!
Just go Carter and let someone with a bit of pride and fight take over!

| I heard a very good description once of Carter. A bloke playing fantasy super league manager with a real life team. The bloke came as an accountant and openly admitted he knew nothing about rugby. A few years later he is making all the rugby decisions. He has totally trashed the squad and left us with the worst bunch of players we have ever had in SL. Then he comes out with the relegation statements. Well if he had kept his nose out and employed a good director of rugby who actually knew what he was doing, then relegation would not be an issue.

| A little verse about who's to blame
White flag Carter is his name
No guts no bottle no will to fight
A man who thinks he's always right
The fans think you no longer belong
This time Michael you got it wrong
So take your money and be on your way
Cos relegation is not okay

I’m trying not to fall out with you PB but we’re you not best mates with a previous chairman that left this club destitute and had even less on field success that Carter. Just a thought.

The point is PB, there wouldn’t be a book left, to write the new Chapters, had it not been for Michael Carter.
When he’s goes, I hope you’ll and all the others who have criticised him beyond reason, will now support John Minards, he’s played a big big role in getting the stadium redeveloped, and will take us forward, he’s has red white and blue in him more than some on here.

| Am I mistaken or did he more than once refer to the new stand as "that thing"? I thought he would have taken the opportunity to praise how good it was looking. Apologies in advance if mistaken.

Oh and wasn't you best mates with one of the previous chairman which left the club on the brink, you still defend him to this day. This forum as been a much better read without you and your constant vitriol and rubbishing members constantly so why don't you go and crawl under the rock you've been hiding under. Hopefully a new Start is on the horizon and guess what up pops wakefields chief creep, your constant grovelling makes me want to vomit. My advice to you is go pick your mate little brain up or whatever he calls himself these days, get 2 deck chairs and a couple of loaves and go feed the ducks in the park, mind you you'll bore them to death.

Dunkirk, when MC arrived him and CB did a great job for a number of years and stabilised the club. He brought in Brian Smith and Kear and things started to build for the better. I applaud him for all that. However where he has gone wrong in my opinion is that he believed he had the skill and knowlege he could do the job of director of rugby. Just my opinion , it has been an utter disaster since then. When he comes on TV saying telegation could be a blessing, that sums up how shambolic he has run the rugby side.
As for John Minards, nice bloke and yes he has the club at heart. He also did a good job stearing the tricky path to get the stand up and running. My only gripe he has not been strong enough with Carter, sat back and watched him trash the squad. He should have been more pro active and 'ADVISED' MC to step back and get some proper people to run the rugby side.
Anyhow we are at a point in the history of this great club when it takes another turn in the path. I am already aware of some of the content of the new chapter and its quite exciting. For what its worth i just have this feeling that john minards may not be around much longer too. If so i would thank him for his time at the club.

| I hope the first line of this new chapter includes replacing the whole back line. Not one of Taufau, Langi, Gaskell, Lineham, Lyne or Kershaw offer any threat whatsoever.

| Suggesting that "relegation could be a blessing in disguise", reads as though the club have written off our chances of survival.
Losing revenue and supporters would seem to be a very strange "blessing" (whether disguised or not).
I'd much rather that there was some contingency planning going on un the background, just in case and that everyone, front of camera, was telling the world how hard we're fighting and probably suggesting that we have some help coming, either in terms of players, management or coaching staff.
On field, we have been playing for 10/11th spot for the last 3/4 seasons and perhaps we had hoped that, despite having a really poor squad, somehow, either Leigh as the promoted side or a.n.other, would save us (again).
It seems that our luck has finally run out.
The Championship isn't easy to escape from, just ask Fav and right now, we look more likely to be another Widnes (they're going ok this term).

I hope so too.
However we know too well that releasing players before they are out of contract can be a costly exercise. Taufua and Kershaw are out of contract this year, and all the others have another year left.
Didn't MC state in his interview regarding Cory Hall too, that he had already been in discussions with players coming off contract this year. Who knows some of these players we'd like to see the back off may have already got an extended deal agreed, which if we stay up would be binding.

Without sounding too negative I don’t think we have a cat in hells chance of staying up. A realistic scenario for me is we’ll be in the championship next year, with all players technically then been OOC. We now need to be seeing which players we want to be keeping for the championship next year and building a platform for returning in 2025 when hopefully we’ll be the 12th team to qualify under IMG’s structure. We’ve simply accumulated too much dead wood. If pigs could fly and do manage to stay up this year we would be in a awful position with Lineham and Co still in contract. I’ve never seen a team lack as much edge pace in my time of watching. Ashurst is our top try scorer which sums up the team. If a new investor is imminent, hopefully we will have a blank canvas to work from.

A blank canvas but, in the Championship, really doesn't sound great.
I agree about us accumulating a lot of dead wood.
There should be a huge incentive for any contracted players, as most would be unlikely to gain a SL contract elsewhere.
