| What is wrong with this guy? He just doesn't look interested. At least Proctor looks to be giving 100 percent but he doesn't have the x factor of big dave.

| After how Sam Eseh coped on debut, I'd put him above Atoni, who is either crocked, unfit or disinterest.

| I don't think that he is fit, in terms of his breathing. We noticed that he was 'suffering' after about 10 mins with hands on hips and sometimes bending over. I feel that he is physically fit, as exemplified in the friendlies, you don't go from being fit to not so a few weeks later. Perhaps the cold air is having an effect.

| I don't think Atoni has hit his best yet but to say he is disinterested is far from the truth as far as I can see.
Mash himself singled him out as one of the most professional in training.
His stats against Hudds
31 tackles, missing 1. Of the 4 props only Whitbread was better with an outstanding 56!
Took 9 carries with an average gain of 7 metres. Not as many as the others but made the most metres per carry.
Didn't give away a penalty or make an error. Only Ashurst and Proctor did this in the forwards.
I'd like him to do more with the ball but Mash sometimes has him as a pivot so doesn't get the running chance.

| Didn't he get injured during the 2022 season.
I'm not convinced he's fully fit.
Shame really, following that first carry he took up in the Boxing Day friendly.
If so, hope he can get back to full fitness.

It’s early days yet. People are comparing him to Fifita which he isn’t but he’s been ‘solid’ for me. Look at Whitbread, was solid last season for 1st half but really put in some big performances back end of season.
He’s looked busy enough for me but I’ll be happy with steady improvement from him.
I think the forwards have been pretty solid first 3 rounds. It’s the pivotal positions and attacking plays in opposition 20/30 we need to work on.
Eseh was very good I thought when he come on. Don’t think I’d change the forwards at all next week and keep continuity.

No offence Doc, but for those observations you need striking off.....
If its the cold air you're on about, it was much colder playing (and watching) in the friendlies....

I think it’s down to fitness. He looked like he had just played 80 minutes 10 mins into the Catalan Game. I don’t think he’s been poor, just needs to build his engine up hopefully. We are lucky to get 15 mins a run from him at the minute.

| Yep, have to say that I have noticed this too. I was impressed with him on Boxing Day so have been expecting big things from him but so far he has been average at best. Maybe we should have gone for Paul Vaughan instead ??

1. He isn't Dave
2. He is probably adapting and gaining fitness
3. He is one of the players currently least of the issues, but I presume now Lineham has had his grief the fans need to find someone else to berate.
As with most players Proctor has looked good in defence not so much offering going forward but then not much of the team has offered much attack in the last couple of games. With players like Crowther, Ashurst, Pitts, Proctor, Battye, Butler and others, none of which seem to look to throw a pass or if they do its Milleresque with a visit to Pinderfields written on it which then leads to a mistake, to me fans need to look at team performance not individuals,
I'm sure you are faultless in work and you never have an off day and never make a mistake either

Think this post sums Atoni up for me as well

| He has been somewhat underwhelming so far after a good start on Boxing Day.
It’s going to take him a while to acclimatise but for me at the moment he is not putting his hand up to do the hard yards. He also doesn’t seem to run his weight.
Having said that he looked more effective on Friday despite his short spells.
Would have been nice for him to hit the ground running but it’s going to take time. It must be one hell of a culture shock coming from the Roosters to Trinity.
If he is still struggling in 4 weeks then I will be concerned.

Agree ,we got bigger problems at 6 and 9 and think we got one pass out to the wing in two games .The attack is a shambles ,yet we can pick out a player who made 30 tackles and mist one .J Crother just tackels as does Proctor in fact that is all l the forwards do, and none offer little in attack.,so what is the difference .? You say he does not look fit Hood looked unfit while they were warming up.Thought on Coaches pushing the old players in the team (never seen as many in the starting 17) to much in training ,so there tired before they take the field .18 year old players body's recover a lot faster than 29 up to 34 body's

It can take ages for a player to get used to moving across the world. A bit of warmer weather would help him I think.
Saying that, his stats show he's making ground and working hard in defense. Just needs to get his carries up.

| Atoni might not be ripping trees up but neither did Whitbread when he first arrived.
There are more urgent problems to correct in the team at the moment.

True, and if I am not mistsken it did seem he was being used as a ball playing forward in the second half.
