What are we expected to do just let Field and French have a field day. Those 2 won’t have a quieter game all year, and still showed in glimpses just the quality they have. We played to our strengths, Cam Smith made a career out of slowing down the opposition, he was the master. I do like Matty Peet though.

I'm not sure how he thinks we slowed it down any more than his team did.
It certainly wasn't the reason his team couldn't score. That was strong tackling and more effort than the opposition.

I think Peet is proving to be a good coach & I’ve enjoyed watching his Wigan team this year but let’s not forget the rugby served up by the Wigan teams of Wane & Maguire. Some great talents in those teams but they served up some of the most negative & petty rugby I’ve had the misfortune to observe.
Sorry Matty you’ve got to take this one on the chin, out played old boy!

I don’t expect any opposition coach to do anything but comment on why his team won… or lost… he was out coached today… and his team had no answer …

Well whatever Peet said about our style of play , it was within the rules and his team was totally outplayed in both attack and Defence , so all credit to Poching for the game plan that stopped Wigan in their tracks and also the players for implementing it .

I'll give him Saints, who are better than the "mighty" Wigan but, maybe he hasn't seen much of Warrington and Leeds this season

Merely frustration from Peet. His team were tackled out of the game and as a result they were forced into playing one up rugby.

Unfortunately, he knew exactly what he was saying and it's no coincidence that he has tried to elevate" the so called "big 4" to a higher status.
That kind of cr@p has a habit of sticking in peoples minds and it wont be long before the Sky pundits start regurgitating it.

Perhaps it’s time the “ lower “ clubs started speaking out ! The way Catalan played … holding down , messing at every play the ball was disgraceful . Saints do a pretty good job at that too ! Sometimes I think we are too “ nice” !

The point is that he said it as an off the cuff type remark but, it's like death by a thousand cuts.
He knew exactly why he was saying it and he is having a pop at Trinity (and other clubs), it's not on.

The irony is that Wigan have been and still are one of the grubbiest sides in the comp but, that's obviously ok ?

In fairness to Peet, what he actually said was watching saints v Leeds, not saints and Leeds. And on that score he's not wrong - they've torn us a new one for the last god knows how many times we've met

Pretty disingenuous to clubs other than the four that he specifically mentions and as I suggested, these comments are made for a reason and whilst it's easy to see why he would be bitter after his side got well beaten by Trinity, this kind of comment is unwelcome and damaging to the other clubs and the sport of RL.

Wigan are a very successful club, no question but, they certainly havent always been a shining light of how to run a club and how to play the game.

I’d say all clubs have to play to their strengths wrencat in order to compete and credit to poching for plotting their downfall and getting the squad to play to an almost perfect game plan against a team that can rack up cricket scores in the blink of an eye .Nothing is assured in our game but I bet mr Peet had already got them down for a win even before a ball was kicked in anger ,and that’s why imo the derogatory comments , after being outfoxed and out muscled

He should have took a look at how his [iown[/i team played.......
Outhought, Outplayed and Out enthused...... A lot of "outs" there...........
