After reading numerous posts on here about how well we are doing or not, how much money we have and a lack of feet on the terraces. Have we thought about these points:

1 - The game is in decline in general from grassroots all the way to full time professionals.
2 - Rugby League in this hemisphere is played at the wrong time of year
3 - Money helps of course but if we survive super league again this year, doesn’t that mean we (again) do the best with the smallest budget in the super league. In that I mean surely if we always have the smallest budget we should always go down?
4 - I was always happy to keep CC and how we are playing with the players we got currently is no different.
5 - Wakey always win as many as they lose, was this not the same when we finished 5th under CC?
6 - The current board have done more than anyone else to get us on an even keel financially and new facilities to come.

I am, by all means not saying that all the above is right, but I don’t think I am far off and I think the club is doing BETTER THAN ANY OTHER TEAM in superleague….. ? It’s not always based on results…….. It’s a business at the end of the day.

Re your point 4.
You're having a laugh - yes WP had the same players that CC left and he won 5 out of 7 games.
We won 4 on the bounce this season - when was the last time CC did that?
You've made 6 points which you say "aren't far off" - well 2 of those points 4 & 5 dont hold watrer for a start.

I could come up with the same 6 points and only agree with you on point 1

Agree with points 1 and 6, the rest aren't really factual just made up opinions to suit.

Isn't that what all this is about though, opinions and to have a say, maybe people to realise that on this forum.

In regards to finishing 5th, what I'm trying to prove is that although we (supposedly) did well in the seasons to finish 5th and a lot of people keep mentioning this, we still only won nearly as many as we lost, so maybe the other teams that season were not as good as they had been, which fudged the league table a little, that's a fact

Course it is, that's what I did to your OP, I agreed with 2 of your points, the other 4 were of no interest to me what's gone is gone and saw no point in discussing them, they weren't opinions you were trying to make but comparisons, and not very well unfortunately, sorry.

Fair enough. I wouldn’t expect the majority to agree anyway. A few points raised. Just sick to death of fans just looking at the little things instead of the much bigger picture. IMO the game needs a lot of injection of ideas and cash and I just can’t see that happening due the the RFL not grabbing opportunities to link with others and the model we have hasn’t really changed and why should it and how can it? The game isn’t as exciting as it used to be. Grassroots is the starting point and summer rugby is the next. From my time playing professional and prem conference later on in my career I can see the difference in participation and viewing. Maybe others can’t.

The RFU have taken their game and taken a lot of what we do into theirs including coaches because of the money on offer. Simple fact. We are a working man’s game. The RFU are the hoo ha henries and will always be, ever since the split. I don’t have the answers and to be honest no one in RL seems to either.

On a positive Wakey will be fine and survive this season, and the next and the next. UTT
