| Came across this on LinkedIn, appears he has left the club, not seen any press release from the club on this.

Recruitment Consultant at Driven Logistics Ltd

That’s my first week completed in my new adventure.. my career path has led me down the route of recruitment consultancy and I couldn’t have wished for a better start.
To say the environment and pressures are different would be an understatement, but I feel reenergised as every day has literally felt like a school day. I’m learning new skills whilst applying knowledge that I’ve picked up throughout the years. I’ve always loved meeting new people and seeing them achieve new goals, and this week has taught me that this role will provide just that.
Although I’m going to miss the lads dressing room banter, I’m very much looking forward to continuing to work with my new colleagues and integrating into these new surroundings.
I’m always looking to expand my network, so if you or your connections need any assistance with your staffing, please feel free to contact me.

| Nice of them to let us know, I knew he had signed for York for next season but we now know why not selected plus another salary off our books early.

| Good luck Ryan in your new career! Been a great player in super league and was great for us in his first stint with the club....can look back on a very good career!
It seems we are starting prep for next season early...which is what we should be doing...blooding ypungsters...shifting players on...that's 3 of the older generation gone with Atkins, Brough and Kirmond....this is what fans have been asking for....
Just need to make some big calls on players on big salaries who seem to spend more time off the pitch than on it...then work real hard in getting the right type of replacements in!

| No a lot of fans think we should be shifting Chester on first and then let another coach decide what they want rather than inheriting what the current coach thinks we need. I know I can dream about the coach but the only reason a player earns what they do is because the club think they are worth it.
It appears you seem to be indicating that we move Johnstone on due to his injury record, a brave statement to make.

| Slightly changed my opinion on Ryan reading that
We could really do with his experience at the minute, he’s perfect for wing and centre cover and we’ve had to loan some one from Huddersfield as cover, we could barely field a full team the last few games and it looks on the face of it he’s taken advantage of the Covid system and binned us off to set his own business up
I don’t get why he wouldn’t finish his contract off with us
If it is that he’s finished playing for us surely we should have announced it

| Great player when Kear snapped him up from Bradford for next to nowt.
Proved at Wire what a class act he was, apart from that horrible swan dive!
Unfortunately couldn't understand why we resigned him.
Didn't use him when we signed him.
Had enough centres and 2nd rowers.

Was he refusing to play then? OR was he just not being selected in which case. how can you blame him for seeking a future for himself elsewhere?
Class player, and I for one thought he could do us another year, but I have absolutely no qualms with Ryan, good luck to the guy and thanks for the memories!

| He cannot just furlough himself only the employer can do that just it is only them who can take them off. I suppose he could of asked to leave in order to start a new career whilst playing part time for York. He was however still contracted to us until the end of the season therefore the club must have agreed to his release.
I don’t think it is his business reading the LinkedIn post.

| I agree with 1315. Would have liked to see him there for one more season. His experience would have been helpful.
Good luck Ryan. A joy to watch when you came here in 2006. A century of appearances for us as well, I believe.

| Fabulous player in his first stint and a great player for Wire but, if we're honest, his "homecoming" has been a bit of a let down.
Dont konw if this is down to the player, coach or club.
Strange that the club haven't announced his release and even more strange that he didn't play when we had so many injuries etc.
As I said great for Trin first time around and good luck to the lad.

That's not what he said though. Being disinterested with the club and wanting Chester to go are two different things.
Using the "probably" to make a point that he is trying to paint as a fact just needed calling out.

It depends on the circumstance and what has happened
If he has decided he doesn’t want to play as he wants to set a business up
That is taking the mick at the highest level out of the club and fans as we needed an outside back, we’ve had to bring in Kaye and senior on loan, Atkins was brought in to cover both of those positions
It might be we have asked him to leave to make wage room for battye as an example
In which case I have no issue with that and wish Ryan all the best
I don’t have the full facts but after being involved in our game and Wakey for 30+ years I would like to think I am good at reading between the lines
My guess is he’s decided to leave us
It’s only a guess
Which is why I’d love to hear something official

| I’m with Mopsey on this one, I have a large number of Trinity supporting friends and the majority of them would applaud the appointment of a new Head Coach. It’s not going to happen though, Carter won’t sack his best mate and has instead brought in Willie Poching to paper over the cracks in Chester’s wall. I applaud bringing Poching in, hes a Trinity favourite and a v good coach but I don’t agree with the reasoning behind his appointment.

| I guess Ryan Atkins has come across an opportunity too good to turn down at this moment in time.
He developed into a top class centre at Wakefield and gave us some great performances. I really enjoyed his match ups against Cas's Michael Shenton during that period.
Also remember him turning up at The Eagle, down Flanshaw, with his mate Kelvin Fletcher to support the Brennan Rooney fundraising, although I wasn't present for his visit to The Toby Carvery with Chanelle Hayes.
Best of luck Ryan.

That was comedy
We came back on the same flight as the team from Perpignan airport after they had played Catalan. This was back when you could fly direct manchester. Incidentally it was miles easier flying from Manc you could walk from the airport to the city centre it was that close
I asked Ryan about Chanelle on way back
Probably something like I bet ziggy was fuming with you
He said something to the effect please m8 don’t talk about Chanelle
I suspect he’d had enough of hearing her name at that point
Even to this day Ryan’s nick name to us was Chanelle lol

No other details have been announced but reading between the lines it could be that Lee Gilmour could be on his way to Leeds.
So one guy leaves and the club signs a real club favourite who was a fantastic player for us and an inspirational leader. He’s served his time and been an excellent number two at different clubs for quite a while now. It seems an excellent move to me?
I’d also say...we might even be looking further down the line with this one?
As I said in other posts...let’s just forget the results of this season and get off Chesters back...he had two and a half good seasons and has had all sorts go against him these last 18 months.
We’ve started clearing out some of the older generation and players who don’t want to play for us...probably more to come...if CC makes the big changes and say 10 games into next season it clearly isn’t working then at least Poching will have been here enough.time and be a ready replacement to take over.
It all makes perfect sense to me...a great acquisition at exactly the right time...
