I may be wrong, but I think he maybe referring to the rule “if a player involved in scrummaging, then gives a positive test for covid 19, then All those players in that game who were involved in scrums, would have to be quarantined for 14 days.
Good luck to all players, I’m not sure if restarting the season is worth it, even though it be the death knell to Rugby league.

It was also added that if 2 players from the same team test positive for Covid then PHE / Sport England would have the power to force the full club to isolate for 2 weeks, resulting in loss/delay of fixtures etc.

It almost seems inevitable that, should any player from any club contract the virus, there will be some cases within the sport.
What I struggle to understand is that, in RL (and RU), there is inevitable close physical contact and there doesn't seem too much difference whether it's when a player is being tackled or whether it's in a scrum.
I know that scrums in Union can last for 10 minutes but, its hardly the same in RL

I thought he may be referring to the new re start tackle rule. Assuming they bring it in. Bad news as, according to Chester, the club invested in a "wrestling room" pre season.

And this is a very real scenario with infection rates still quite high v Australia, where resumption appears to be working. But what choice do we have but to try to resume? We are all under greater risk than we ought to be at this stage of covid 19, thanks to our world beating government. The game will go bust and the players out of work, if we don't. Fundamentally, it's the player's choice if they are happy with that risk. I am confident that a team led by Michael Carter will take all measures to ensure optimal safety of the staff and players. We have to give it a go IMO. Fingers crossed we have no positives from the health welfare and club perspectives

Not really but I wondered if it could help allay fear around testing costs which I believe to be around £7500 per game and hopefullu go somewhere towards keeping clubs solvent.

There is an article in today’s League Express, on page 3, that gives a figure of £5,000. Per week. Whichever figure it is, that’s a lot on money for any club. You could get a good quality player for that amount. Also in the same article, the RFL have indicated that, any club entering Administration, may not receive the automatic 12 points penalty, due to Covid 19, situation. I think some clubs will struggle financially, even the Wigan chairman has recently put another £500,000. into the club.
Michael Carter says he needs a squad of 25 senior guys and 6 kids, we are 5 guys short of that. Another article says Lee Kershaw has turned down offers of a new contract, George King, already signed for HKR, and Danny Brough is a target of the Bulls. Some interesting information from the Martin Sadler interview, including the renegotiation with staff over wages, some weren’t happy, but the vast majority saw the bigger picture. Sadly, one or two surprised him with their unwillingness to co operate, which wouldn’t be forgotten.
I just hope that the club, and everyone there, come through this situation without any harm.

It was a great interview with MC, a real eye opener. So many things that are a consequence of the virus that you wouldn't even think about.

On a rugby league show over here last night The NRL boss was on and he said that he has grave concerns for the English Super league as he believes most clubs are going to go broke.

He also said that the NRL would step in to help out if they could for the greater good of the international game.

Hopefully that will not need to happen but if it does , it may keep us afloat.?

We need to get a start date in place and work towards that - I know our international teams are the sticking point but we have to try something
