150 mph in a 30 ( total disregard for life ) ,under the influence, violent assault on Police officers and he only gets 23 months in prison and a two year driving ban. So he will be out in say 10 months. What the hell is going on with sentencing

I have to say, when you read the details of the arrest and the video of him speeding he is lucky to get 2 years. That is serious stuff.

Without doubt after 20 years posting on these forums that is the dumbest post ever. I'm no snowflake and I accept boys and girls will be boys at times but come off it.

We all make balls up, yeah we do but the definition of a balls up is massivly different between you and normal folk. Doing 55mph in a 50 is a balls up, getting involved in a bit of pushing and shoving in a pub is a bit of a balls up.

What Moore did is the act a a nutcase, end of, the blokes an animal and will only get worse now he's lost one outlet for his lunacy.

As for keeping us in SL for christ sake what's that got to do with anything. Had Jeffrey Damar been a world class half back would you have praised him despite the fact he kept eating his team mates! Get real.

That's either a wind-up, or an incredibly daft thing to say; the catalogue of crimes that Moore committed is not a 'balls-up' or a moment of madness - it's a string of dangerous, anti-social behaviour that could have ended in serious loss of life.

If you'd been parked up in those roadworks with your family in the car, and he'd shunted you at 150mph attempting to escape from the rozzers, would you still consider that we should 'back off' - or would you be calling for him to be lynched?

The lad is clearly unhinged and a violent thug - he should be locked up for a long time.

It's a sad fact of life that some people have that "bit of mongrel" in them by nature. On a rugby field, it's an asset, most often what makes a certain sort of player. In life, it can be destructive, and we've all seen many examples of that. Malcolm Alker, and now Moore, are the most recent examples.

What governs how their lives turn out is whether they recognise and deal with it. There was plenty of mongrel in Barrie McDermott but he's a fine chap now. Shaun Wane has hinted recently how he had to deal with off the field off the field stuff with Michael McIllorum, but says now that you couldn't meet a more decent bloke.

What lies in the future for the likes of Hock and Moore remains to be seen ....

Some win, some lose, and society deals with the losers, and Scott Moore has got what he deserved. And arguably, not enough.

I'm sure many of us took the correct turn at the end of mongrel teenage years. Unfortunately many don't.

Sorry pal but that is out of order....I've been a "traffic rozzer" for the past 23 years and would so like to take you to work with me one day so you can meet the victims/families of these morons who drive like Moore did that night.
There have been several very recent incidents in West Yorkshire where pursuits have gone very wrong and people have either died or been seriously injured and it is always the innocent parties and their families that are left to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives, not to mention any police officer that was within a 1 mile radius of the incident when it went pear-shaped, who then gets the full weight of the Independent Police Complaints Commission wanting to prosecute them as well !!!

Just out of interest FIL, have I watched too many crime dramas but I thought for public safety police gave up on chases like this to protect the public?

Maybe so but wasn't the S Moore chase at something like 4am when most people were in bed?

I've had a word with my brother who is a rozzer (but not a traffic one tbh) and he says that as far as he's aware they need clearance from the duty traffic officer at HQ to commence a high speed chase though 99.9% of the time that's a given.

As for folk being in danger, when the guy is already travelling at 135mph in a built up area which is how I read it, then he already is a danger to the public so chasing and attempting to stop him is the only option.

Slightly O/T but just out of interest roughly how many cyclists have you pulled up for having no lights during darkness hours?

Surprisingly for a Cas fan I do agree with a lot of your posts. I agree with this one whole heartedly as well but its the first time I've realised you have a sense of humour and it made me laugh.
