It would be great to have an actual full back at full back rather then a winger / a half back/ utility back.

Would be odd to loan a player that would improve Cas, if you are correct Vasty and we are shoe ins for top 4, 100 % guaranteed top 4, no other team has any decent players or coaching staff then the last thing we want is to be helping out Cas.

No idea why you're aiming this it me. For starters I've never ever suggested we are certainties for top four, where have you got that from? Secondly I have no idea as to the validity of this story, I just wanted to know if Wollo meant alone or transfer.

Definitely a case of someone taking a throwaway comment seriously. I think it all came from comments about Cas at Saints, somebody joked about Cas taking Jowitt on loan because they didn't think Cas had a decent full back. Why would we loan him to a rival?

If it is literally a loan - great, he needs game time and would be in the team if Grix wasn't doing so well. However after this season we need him as a replacement for Grix (maybe sooner if Grix gets injured), can understand if he's getting frustrated sat on the side lines though, he deserves a spot in the starting team.

Could this be due to Powell's comments yesterday about who fills his fullback position being undecided and some people speculating about a good fullback with potential for Cas.
Personally I hope he stays with us but if he gets some game time and its on loan on a monthly basis then it can be positive for him and us.

He can get all the game time he wants with a championship club, the standard there is pretty high.

I'd rather send him to Bradford.

I agree a loan spell would be great for Max, although he should be exempt from playing against us.

I see Max as our long term future so the more top level game time experience he can get the better. Also a chance to work on his weakest area which I think is one on one tackling.

I'd feel quite relaxed with Max going on loan after seeing Hooley play on Boxing Day. He looks very capable and had no problems in bringing down that Leeds forward in a one on one.

A Cas fan at work just commented " I hear we're getting Jowitt".
Would do him good to get some Super League game time. I expect Cas to be Top 4 with or without him.

I get and don’t doubt that Hooley has great potential but I thought he struggled in the Boxing Day fixture a little. I wouldn’t be confident of him filling Grix or even Jowitts boots just yet.

We will not be a top 4 side this year without a genuine full back of good quality .

If Cas are prepared to pay MJ wages and maybe throw Wakefield a few quid , it's a winner all round. If Jowitt is a good player its a crying shame for him to miss out on first team rugby at this level if he is up to it.

And if trusted members of this site say he's a good player then I'm not gunna argue. Plus a bit of coaching from Powell won't do him any harm.

No doubting his potential and he acquitted himself really well in pre season but, right now, he's still a little way behind Jowitt and IF Chester can give Jowitt some game time, it would help both players.
Ideally, you would want a seamless change whenever Jowitt comes in and if Grix was to stay fit all season, he would be knackered when the business end of the season comes around and we're all dreaming of being involved in some big games later in the year

will keep jowitt sharp and like others say, fingers crossed we are around when the trophies are being handed out, we have two full backs who have played regular rugby.

Again why would we want to do anything that assists one of our SL rivals. Jowitt playing for another SL side could have a massive effect on us, what happens if we lose out on points difference on a league position because of the points saved by Jowitt. Its a no brainer , if he has to go on loan then only to a club in a different division.

I find this quite amusing if true. Its not that long ago when we were struggling to survive and Cas were only too happy to send a bit of dross our way. When we questioned the quality of their fringe player clearouts, their condescending supporters used to say although they were not good enough for them, but they were good enough for us.

In my opinion, we are only one game into the season and its too early to be off loading players. If we need game time for some guys, Cas is the last club I would send anyone to. They never have, and never will, do us a favour so Borlocks to them.

Cas have more options yet before they need to bring in a player who can't get into our team.
Just rumour for the sake of it.
