Heard on the grapevine Clarkes Brewery in Wakefield are moving to the Newmarket site in the summer of next year (201icon_cool.gif and will be taking 120000sq ft of space. Anyone else with an input who can confirm this please.

Not sure about the square meterage, but Clarke's have been rumoured to be moving to Newmarket for a couple of months or so.
I'm sure there are a few posters who will know more...

My Clarkes rep told me a few weeks back that they are having purpose built distribution centre built on Newmarket and hoping to be in mid 2018, so that part of the rumour has some credence, not sure on the size of the development though, but based on the fact they are looking to bring a couple of thier northern depot (including FAM) one roof, 120,000sq/ft sounds a bit small, 40,000sq/m is probs more like it 430,000sq/ft) from my experience in the distribution/warehousing market

If the trigger point will have been passed then, regarding the developed areas, there are reasons to be positive.

As was mentioned in the last thread Kev referred to the Newcold build is listed at around 38,000sqm. So the Clarks development wouldn't quite take it passed the trigger mark.

If nothing else, I doubt there is a group of rugby supporters in the country better versed in aspects of planning law than us. Graduates have studied for less time than us.

Does that this take into account both the existing and under construction parts of newcold?

Especially the ones that work at Wakefield Council!

Yep, first part was around 21000msq from memory, the second is apparently slightly less.

The first Newcold was around 23,000 m² and the second one was projected to be slightly bigger there for around 50,000 m² in total

If the Clarks Brewery distribution centre is as big as mentioned then it will take the total to around 80,000 m² which is approximately 20,000 m² beyond the trigger point

We enquired about the Newcold site early last year but they prices were not competitive enough, BUT I have asked them again and we are going to be enquiring again maybe around September to see if there prices are much better for when our contract ends with in 2019 but we could terminate it at any time if wanted,Now im not saying its going to benefit us Trinity but if we did use newcold ltd then that would be giving them more business in which hopefully would help pay for a Community Stadium we'll just after wait and see.

The second Newcold build is smaller, it is on the council planning portal if you want to check it out. The TOTAL will be circa 40000m2. As the other poster has pointed out the Clarks build is apparently going to be around 15000m2. It is a very good step forward but will need another build to pass the trigger. They ought to evict him for going on the pitch without permission, utterly pointless.

His contribution to the programme quality was nil. I felt embarrassed for him running around on the pitch when play was under way. He was on the pitch nearly as much as that Wigan water carrier the other week. Please BBC if you feel obliged to employ RH-P, then give him a job worthwhile.
