| Only point of contention is Anthony England - if fit a much better option than Hirst (who's done ok) but is he ready?
Struggling to see why Mason Caton-Brown in there.

MCB will be in there for cover in case of any niggles - need to manage these 2 games carefully so need cover in the backs.
Agree re: Hirst/England - Hirst has been improving game on game, but still not at Englands level yet.

Looks like we will be going with our strongest 17 for Cas, which would include England.
Agree about MCB but, that may mean he is in for a game on Monday or, that there is a doubt over one of the other three quarters ?.
Our forwards can match Cas, it's whether we can close Gale down quickly and control Hardaker coming into the line.

I think 3 of the forwards named in the 19 face late precautionary fitness tests. but yes Shenny is deffo out.

Good because I can't stand him, which is generally a sign that he's a key player for the opposition - certainly a creative player who won't be missed by us

Yeah I mentioned elsewhere that picking England would be a risk, just down to the fact he's played only in 3 games this year and that was after a long lay off at the end of last season. Tbh he ddn't look in the form he was last season before his recent injury either imo.

It comes down to whether he offers more than Keegan Hirst for the Cas game.
I think Hirst offers some different options in offence but, if we want to batter the Cas forwards, England has just a bit more umph.
Stopping Gale is the key to success and getting in his face early doors and cutting down his time is critical.

| Should be no changes for me, Hirst has done well since he came in and we have won all 3 games he's played. Injuries aside it should be a case of it's your place to lose and he deserves to keep his spot. England will likely get his chance on Monday when there are bound to be a few knocks from having such a short turnaround, it will be up to him to prove then that he deserves his place.

I'm not saying that you're wrong but, if we keep playing the same 17 players every week, they will all get knackered, possibly at the same time.
A clever coach will convince one or two players that it is in their own interests to take a break as there are "more important games to come" and keep the squad fresh.
Having said that, it's not easy and if he (the coach) gets it wrong, it can upset the players, leading to a drop in form.
It's the ability to mange the players that separates a good coach from a great coach.

Not injured, but at the moment we have 3 2nd rowers who are better than him at the minute in Ashurst, Kirmo and Hadley.
He is only young and will become a top player but no matter how good he is a 17/18 year old forward shouldn't be playing week in week out, I will be happy if he plays in 6/7 games this season and I think one of those will probably be on Monday against Wigan depending on hoe players pull through after tomorrow's game.

Jeez, I thought he was 20/21ish.
What's he been eating!?
Well, with that in mind, right enough. I wouldn't want a lad like that on dual registration in league one like jowett though. For they experience they get (or, lack of) they may as well not risk injury and just stick with Wakefield day to day.
That's another story though, I guess.
Hope Wakefield retain bachelor for as long as possible and really invest in him..... Unless he moves to glasshoughton or something

He's 19 and he played in same junior team as my middle lad for 7 years and as I coached him at U10's I obviously take full credit for his progression

| England in for Hirst definitely the right call for me...England may lack a bit of match fitness but at this stage is a far better super league player IMO...that's nothing against Hirst who has done well the last few games...I just think he needs to be brought along steadily though and a few things I've seen in his game I reckon he could be vulnerable at Cas in a high intensity blood and thunder derby...Monday I reckon will be far less intense so I'd sit him out for England and pay him on Monday...
On the game I think we've a lot better chance than people are giving us credit for...the last time Cas came up against a similar scenario they proved they are beatable....when I say similar scenario I mean meeting a team full of confidence and with a very fit and healthy squad...
All we need to do is make sure we don't put in another Leeds or Huddersfield performance...other than those two games I think we stack up pretty well in comparison to Cas and their results...
We've both beaten Catalans and Widnes convincingly...we've both beaten Leigh...they did by much more, but there's an argument to say Leigh knew a bit more by the time they played us...we beat Salford narrowly, they lost narrowly to Salford....in the other two fixtures they beat Warrington off the back of the World Club game and an injury hit Wigan last week whilst in our different two fixtures we lost narrowly to a strong Hull side and won at Saints...
If we go there at the top of our game which I've every reason to believe we will I think we'll give them a real test....if we turn in a performance like at Leeds there's a 50 point hammering coming as we've all seen how good this Cas side can be...I think the former though...I think it will be a cracker!

That's how I see it, so long as he is fit to play England is a much better more experienced SL player - again no offence to Hirst who's done OK.
