Paul Aiton was MC's favourite player. As for Mariano it would be a no from me.

I'm sad to see him go, but he has barely played in the last two seasons and would probably be down the pecking order next season with the forwards we have already (Lynch, Millington, Holmes, McMeekan, Moors, Springer, Cook, Massey and Larne Partick), and we have also supposedly signed another prop and might get Savelio permanently.

On a one year deal maybe.

If it's the same Frankie Mariano that left us, yes, I 'd welcome him back. Unfortunately though, two years can make a lot of difference to a player who hasn't involved in first team football. I was sorry to see him leave.

2 years with Powell will have made him a better player than the one that left but he seems to be Injury prone so would depend on what wage he was after for me

Pay per game contract maybe.

He will be 30 next May and has had knee reconstruction.would we get enough game time from him if we did sign him? great player though,might be worth the risk, depends what sort of contract he's after.

Said it where it was brought up elsewhere. If he was still the player he was, Cas wouldn't be getting rid. What would be the point of signing a guy who we already know hasn't hardly played a game in 2 years.

What??? Great player???? Get a grip fgs. His attack was ok and his defence was about as impressive as ngb4c's IQ level. It's a no from me.

Not for me, I was disappointed when he left but hindsight has proven that we got out at the right time.He's plagued by injury and would be a big gamble now

Apart from that we have better back rowers in Ashurst, Crowther, Molloy, Sio, A Tupou, Arona and young James Batchelor making his way into the squad.

Would rather go with what we already have in that position.

Really need to focus on replacing Hall, Scruton and Anderson also adding the 3rd half back

Ashurst I can agree with.
Crowther ? Maybe in a few years.
Molloy ? Not as good and is just as injury prone.
Sio ? I like him but not the same type of player
A.Tupou ? Has been, shown nothing to suggest he's as good as Mariano as things stand now.
Arona ? Needs to show more. A fit Mariano over him anyday.
Batchelor is rated by better RL heads than me so I'd leave that one open to debate.

Agar hated Mariano and played him in the reserves as much as he could. A player treated badly by a bad coach. Bring him back.

A fit Mariano you mention, isn't that most people's argument, that he hasn't been fit for two seasons, I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.

He's a good player but way too injury prone. Don't think his body is up to the rigours of week in week out superleague.

Reservers how long are you going back.? Injury prone now wont play SL again i dont recon.

Frankie has been fantastic for us when he's actually been on the field. Sorry to see him go but even when fully fit he now has a lot of 2nd rowers ahead of him. On the injury situation none of them have been re-occurring, they have all been different. We took Jake Webster from HKR a few years ago after he had been out injured for them on a regular basis but once again they were not re-occuring and he's been great for us both on and off the field.

Defence???? one man, are you kidding, probably has the same defensive qualities has all the rest of the Wakey Trinity players over the last 5 seasons. look at the tables for Super League points diff. over the years,Wakey are always down at the botton of the pile. thats always been one of our biggest problems. he's one player, the team as a whole have always been sh i te in defence.

Kirmond is just as injury prone these days, he always seems to be trying to get fit, then he's down with something else. I'd put Kirmond in the same bracket as Mariano but at least Mariano can run through a gap every now and then.

And how do you compare the two defensively??...

Come on the heart the size of a pea baloney is wearing thin now. He's a pro SL player for gods sake. He played in a team that was haemorrhaging points just like Kirmond does now. I've never heard any Cas fans saying his defence stinks.
