| Seems a genuine nice guy and tried his best on the field but the poor bloke looks worn out. Yesterday in the warm up he seemed to be struggling to walk around never mind run .I thought we were getting a leader but he is very quiet on the field. He is just not what we want from an overseas signing. I think someone needs to persuade him to retire at the end of the season and let's look for a younger model for next year

| When I read all the hype about him I was expecting to see someone who could do to teams what Junior Moores did to us yesterday.

| In all honesty, I would agree on this.
Looking at the bigger picture, next year, I would expect Leeds and Huddersfield not to be in the same situation they have found themselves in, and teams around us are looking to improve their squad.
For us to maintain where we are now, our squad needs improving.
I would think that he is by far, our biggest earner, and if it was to happen, us to spend that money, on a real quality half back, as I think pretty much by the end of next year Liam Finn will be done.
Maybe Feleti Mateo, is the most likely like for like replacement to Tupou, but if not we have a decent trio of back rowers in Sio, Kirmond and Ashurst, backed up with the support of Annakin and Molloy. In addition to that, we have 3 young back rowers recently signed up, who will be busting a gut to get some game time.
Added to this, replacing Anderson, Scruton and Hall should also be considered.
Really can't afford passengers, especially when they are taking up a quota spot and a huge wedge of salary cap space. Trying not to be harsh, but if we want to progress, there is no room for sentiment.

| As someone said yesterday at the game he is not what you would expect of an Ozzie test player as you expect them to be hard an rugged and he looks nothing like that. You have to remember he had an horrific broken jaw and while he has been over here he has taken a few wild high shots to the jaw and a couple of times has had stitches put in playing for us. He has a good reading of the game and a decent off load but as has been said is just not up to it and no room for sentiments we need a fully fit war horse

| I actually thought he had a decent game yesterday, he was tackling very well and showed some nice touches in attack especially a well executed pass in the build up to one of Arundal's try.
I agree he may not have had the impact that most of us expected but I don't think he has been bad.

| Ne he hasn't been bad, his body just seems totally broken and shot to pieces.
We have younger options at the club, of which some seem to be over shadowing him.

| It's amazing how we all see the game so differently! I too thought he had a decent game yesterday and while we were on top he looked very good...some very strong runs and some lovely short balls right out of the top drawer. As with a few yesterday, because of losing 3 players to injury he probably played longer than was planned...that coming after a comeback last week in very testing conditions...will be a major player for us next week if we are to cause a shock!

I agree with this. Overseas players usually take time to settle in and Toops has not had a good run of games yet.

| He was also top tackler yesterday (29) and top offloads (3)...no errors, no penalties conceded...not the worst for a supposed crock...

| I am a fan of this guy. He has class written all over him but it is obvious he is not able to fire on all cylinders. I don't know if a close season would help or if it's time to go . I wish we could get a season out of him, fully fit but he will know best.

| I think ultimately on this, the question is, given the fact that between now and say, the end of October, other sides will have strengthened their squads, do we have the time of a full close season to help him.
We have other positions of which we need to strengthen, such as half back and centre, not to mention replace Anderson and Scruton, and if we wait to see if he is fit to go or not, could well be the difference of getting a good player, or the dregs.
Given how close the league is now, this could well be the difference between us being top 8, or middle 8.
