Just as an aside, who do we think will finish below us ?
The main contenders are Widnes and Salford plus one of the Hull clubs (as they always under achieve) but, Salford now have a top director of rugby (Sheens) and they are sure to improve.
It will be very tough indeed to make the top 8 and we could well add to our wooden spoon from last season but, I don't see us being tailed off last with just 3 wins in the regular season, its going to be an interesting year.

No surprise really. Trinity are rarely anything other than favourites for the bottom. Like others have said it's up to the players to prove the experts wrong.

Don't think anyone can argue - usually I make the point about how bookies come up with their odds - but this season we have to be favourites no matter how you look at it.

Tough call. My heart says we will do better than last season but my head is not as convinced. As OP says let's prove 'em wrong!

In you were a bookmaker and setting the odds you would look at last seasons results, look at players in and out, look at our pre season games and without doubt you would have us down to finish bottom. That said we now have a well respected coach in charge who we all hope has developed a team spirit in the camp that can help the team defy the odds, we hope that he has been able to give the team effective structures, we hope we have better luck with injuries, we hope that we can find another half back.
For me the key will be team spirit.

I think you will finish above hull kr and maybe Widnes! Don't think Salford will pull any trees up if you could improve 25% you will be pushing the 8's as I think Salford hull kr and Widnes have gone backwards

Last year we finished 11 points adrift of the next worst team in the competition.
The performances behind that statistic were woefully abject, lacking cohesion and technical ability but most disappointingly showing no team spirit, stomach for a fight or pride.

It's a long long way back from there just to catch up with teams immediately above us in last years final league table. So let's be realistic about where we're at and let's understand that if we finish bottom again but we are close to the teams above us, if we are still in with a shot at the S8s in the later rounds then that's massive progress over last season.

We need to see pride, fight and competitivenes and we need to see team structure, a style of play and a positive culture that demonstrates that we're heading in the right direction.

We didn't get into a hole in just one season and we won't climb all the way out of it in one season either!
