I don't think Tim Smith can justify retaining his place.
I think Johnstone gives us some pace and is less exposed against a Championship side

I'd keep Locke in for that spark (if he is available) and so he takes a spot in the halves for me
Jordan deserves a shot and at least we know he will give his all for the shirt (unlike some others have recently)

Is Ali injured, if not he has to be in the 17.

Our three quarters still looks weak, perhaps down to being changed for just about every game.
I agree with Smith at FB and if Lock is unavailable, I'd go with Godinet and Miller in the halves, both will keep Fax guessing.
Johnstone is certainly a superb scorer of tries but, I don't know whether this is the game to throw him back in the team for,
so perhaps go with Riley.

Ali looked pretty shot to me on Saturday (admittedly so did everyone else) and I think we need to be fitter and stronger than Halifax to come out on top so I'd rather go with a younger lineup.
Johnstone for me gets in for similar reasons - he is younger, fitter and definitely faster than the alternatives and should (in theory) be less exposed against Halifax than against a SL side.
Agree about Godinet if Locke is unavailable, but that leaves us short on a hooker interchange which is why I'd go with Locke if he is available.

Tupou has played all his rugby on the wing until he came here. From the games i have seen it is blatantly obvious that is where he should be playing. Defensively done on the outside 3 times on Sat and on a few occasions in previous games, when in attack he has failed to make the correct pass. I think we would get more from him, bringing the ball back and then we could play Smith in his natural position of Centre.

I considered Jordan Crowther on the bench, but i'm not sure we could afford to be without some back cover. Close call between Tansey & Lynne. Tansey just sneaked it based on versatility ie he is bang average in a few positions as opposed to Lynne who is bang average in just the two.
Washy & Pita fill in at 9 either side of half time.

Is molloy still injured? If not I would have him in the side

Saturdays game we were outplayed from the kick off, we never looked like scoring and the try we did score was dubious. Lyne is never a centre, Smith should never have been on the wing. We moved the ball accross the line where we had no attacking threat. Tansey and Lee Smith are not going to threaten too many sides with pace.

Locke fullback, Johnstone and Lyne on wings, L. Smith at centre with Arundel, Miller and T. Smith in halves.

The pack need to get on top early,
Starting props Anderson and Simon, Godinet at hooker, Second rows, Ashurst and Molloy, Washbrook at loose.

Bench: Sio, Mullaly, Walker, Lauititi.

Play players in position, complete sets, wear the opposition down.
