| I touched on this last year how pathetic are our kick offs? Same every time no depth just so easy for the opposition to catch them. The other team have momentum right away from the kick off. You would be a millionaire if you played a spot the ball competition from the kick off. Firm ground why can't we smash one against the floor from time to time? ITS so basic but yet we do it so wrong

| Everytime yesterday straight to Hanbury, he's 2nd only to Hardaker. This year in yards made from these positions. Shows a basic lack of awareness of the opposition.

| We had 3 different players take the kick offs yesterday, Owen and McShane basically put it in the same spot then Smith kicked out on the full.
We've never been good at kick offs since Brough left.

| Do you guys not watch other teams. Every team kicks off the same. It's a percentage play that should give you control of the upcoming set. I'd be more worried about the contact (or the lack of it) in the first few tackles.

| I agree with you RealSteel89. Some people on here seem to go on and on about our kick offs. I admit switching between left and right might mix it up a bit but so what. The player catching the ball is likely to pass it to a forward who will run it into the first tackle no matter what side of the pitch it is on.
If the kick is deep and doesn't go out on the full then that is what matters. As they say "a kick is only as good as its chase".

| I was surprised that after we played Halifax, no one picked up on how Scott Murrell varied his kick offs.
It certainly caused us some problems.
To go with his general kicking game, he's someone that could do no worse than the kicking game we have at the moment.

Ah! But you are making the mistake of thinking that we have a player in the team who has a kicking game to compare with Murrell because, clearly, we don't have such a player - or at least one who actually plays for us.

| The occasional 'short' kick off could be tried - it does seem to at least give a chance of regaining possession.
With regard to the deep kick off I don't have a problem really with where the ball lands, as long as there is enthusiasm by our players to 'get into the faces' of the opposition and that is what is not happening enough. We should be pinning the opposition in their own 20 and pressing for the error! The same enthusiasm we should be showing at the play the ball - we don't move up quick enough! Get in their faces they don't like it up 'em!

So we have the same kick off as State of Origin, just need 17 State of Origin class players to make it effective!

| I would drill the ball as low and as fast as I could preferably at a player from a kick off. Always causes problems.

| With so many kicking coaches available to the club, I feel like the coach and board are letting the club down by not taking advantage of this.
I may complain.

I remember cas trying that one year. Danny brough would try it 2 or 3 times a game. They were relegated at the end of the season.

I don't think that was a major factor in their relegation.
