With Wakefield currently sitting in 11 places in SL, is it likely that we will finish the season in the top 8 ?
Last season we squeaked in there with a storming finish to the season and with the help of the Bulls
points deduction.
The top 7 in SL are starting to look quite solid, with Saints in a lowly 7th spot.
The Bulls are going well and look to be on course to finish in the 8 and an underperforming FC are
currently 9th.
KR may lose some ground if they pick up some injuries but, assuming that they are overtaken by the Black and Whites, that leaves us fighting for a possible 9th /10th place finish.
Personally, I think the top 8 is probably beyond us this season unless some of the teams above us lose some form quickly and we seem to be looking over our shoulders, instead of looking up.

Can we improve sufficiently to make the play offs ?

No.
I never thought we could, as in addition to Poore ,we needed to make two or three further signings to move us up to next level.

Next two weeks crucial. I think we've got to win both to stay in touch. Even faltering Hull KR have opened up a gap. If we lose both, and we could, I just think the gap might be too big to claw back, even though it is early.

We could still make the 8, we are in a similar position to this time last year. But then we had that unbeaten run and got very lucky with injuries, the chances of that happening again are slim. And this year we have a very skinny squad with rumours of it shrinking further. So no i don't think we will be anywhere near, in fact i fear a battle to avoid the spoon unless the lads start showing they can perform for 80 minutes rather than in fits and starts.

Our poor relations over t'common are trying to get rid because of the HUGE wedge he's getting.
So we don't want him 'cos can't afford him.

I'm more hopeful of a good cup run with some luck in the draw and the team playing to its full potential we could be a surprise finalist as we can give anybody a real good game on the day.
Agree with previous posts don't think we recruited enough and were stuck with John when we could have done with a 2nd Poore up front for that extra grunt most games are still won in the pack. Is it too late to recruit now and maybe get Shackleton or similar proven quality or are we broke?

Doesn't matter WHEN we win the games as long as we do.
Losing the next one won't matter as long as we win others.

Doubtful at this point. First of all we need to start winning any way we can, then we need to sort out the consistency and start playing for 80 minutes as a team, we've got good enough players but are just not on the same page at the moment. The defense is still a bit all over the place, we generally don't come up fast enough and players shoot out causing gaps.

If we can can keep most of our best 17/18 players fit and get a few wins under our belts, I could see us gaining confidence and having a crack. On the other hand if we don't improve we'll be battling in the bottom 3.

Mathematically, yes we can. Realistically, I very much doubt it.

Last season was a fluke helped along by a bit of luck - that won't happen again, so we'll finish somewhere around 9th-11th.

NO not good enough no ambition from the team and management.

We aren't far off, I personally think we canT write us off from the top 8 as last season proved. We still have a game in hand but we need to start putting 100% everything when we play. We seem to lack the enthusiasm back end of games, we also need to stop writing teams off such as Salford (Widnes will be a very tough game).

I think we have a chance, just need to click. Keep the faith! We have to acknowledge that last year took a mammoth effort to get in the 8. We can't be too disappointed unless we go out with a whimper really.

If we beat Warrington or come very close then I believe we still could, if we lose interest and don't get the two points then probably not.

As is with this lot if they keep turning up to play and win then yes if they turn up in the other frame of mind not a chance.They need to get backsides in gear and start doing the stuff they can do not just turning up.

9 wins may also be enough to sneak in
8 wins most probably not enough

I would therefore suggest on our form to date we need a significant imrovement and so far I have seen very little signs of that happenening. We have the skill but our attitude is lacking IMHO. So we need to turn things around pretty quick to keep our slim chance alive.

We need the pack to out muscle the opposition as we did against KR and Castleford when we do that we'll start winning more. Think a fit Raleigh has been missed. Defence is a concern.

We're not far off but think we're firmly in the second tier within super league due to our inconsistency with Widnes, Salford, London, Castleford and KR.

Haven't clicked like we did at the end of last season which is surprising as there's a World Cup this year with Poore, Kirmond, Aiton, Amor, Lauitiiti, Wilkes and Cockayne playing for a place. Thought they'd be pulling up trees and only one is.
