With only 7 games left this season, how many points can we win ?

3 wins would be a minimum target, but with Huddersfield out of form and if we can start to defend better, then 5 wins would be possible.

Phew.

All winnable games in my opinion but can only see us picking up 3 wins.

Which 3, Cas, Widnes and Salford, or are we gonna have a shock win against Saints or Leeds ?

Think 3 wins is asking alot, looking at that, i think Widnes at home is the only one. Cas with Chase back and Ellis on fire will be hard. Salford playing very well, Hudds always do us. Leeds and Saints you never know

If Brown is at the Giants after this weekend (I doubt it) then a win against them is not an impossibility but we should be aining for Cas, Widnes and Salford to get us to 18 points

Honestly they are all winnable!! We should have beaten Leeds, We've already beaten Cas, Widnes and Salford (who to be fair are much improved), Huddersfield are out of form and Hull KR are beatable. St Helens will be tough no doubt but sides like Wigan, Warrington & Catalans are the sides to fear.

The problem is stringing together consistent performances for 80 minutes without silly basic errors

Unfortunately, we had our chance to beat Leeds and didn't take it and they are now getting on a roll (although there is a bump in the road for them this weekend, hopefully)
Saints is a 1 in a 100 chance, but the others do have possibilities.

If we can't defend then we won't win any/many and we can't defend.

Widnes is the only realistic target, with Huddersfield's awful form giving Trinity an outside chance of a victory.

One, maybe two wins at best in that. Reckon AG won't get his 9 wins target.

Don't agree, as if beating Cas and Salford aren't also realistic targets and I'd like to think we're with a good shout at Hull KR & Hudds.

Hudds we could feel a backlash,Leeds depends who turns up,Cas did us at home lets not forget,Saints only just got the win over Widnes,HKR probs to strong for us,Widnes have improved just lost v saints,Salford away nearly did us at home and could be a case of need a win to make the 8.
We could end up with zilch from those games left more so when you think of our defending.

On paper and on recent form will will not win another game. I want to see the remaining 7 games used to give some of the better performing reserves a game or two. I am not saying 5 or 6 at a time but certainly 2 a week. Walshaw and Trout have shown what they can do and they need more game time. Anakin must play, otherwise whats the point. Wildie needs to play and god forbid we ever get to see if Ellis can play.

Didn't we once play Shudds when they'd lost about 1 million games on the trot and they still wupped our asses?

When a team is usually on a losing run, they always seem to spank us e.g London away.

yes they had lost about there first 7 or 8 games and we had started quite well then we went to there place on a friday night and they battered us.

2006. They had lost thier first 7 games and we had won 5 of our first 7 and were flying high.

We lost 56 - 12.

I still don't agree with playing the kids to see how they go.
We should put out the best team possible every week and try to win every game.

At the moment, Trout is getting in on merit, so is Walshaw but is behind Trout for me as a Second Row.
If injuries happen or form dips for a particular player then so be it, but not for the sake of it. As much as it might motivate the kid, it will demotivate the others. He will be doing what some already accuse him of and that is picking favourites. He should pick on form alone.

I am not saying play them for the sake of it. The first team have had a very poor season, 6 wins is it, yet nobody ever gets dropped, to be letting in 30 points a match must mean that players who get selected week after week are not doing what they are paid to do. Several of the reseve team players have played very well all season and yet they never get a sniff a first team. It must be difficult for them to not think whats the point and look for another club. We need to show the first team players that if you can be dropped and the reseves must be rewarded for good play. An example would be Mathers who has made at least one error per game for the last five games that has gifted a try. Grayson in the second team has had a great season, give the lad a run out. Southern has been very poor all season, Anakin has been great in the reserves and Speirs has impressed on loan, give them a go. Mellars has been gash all season, Cowling has played realy well, give Cowling a go. Wood has been shocking lets give Wildie or Ellis a run out. We now know that Wood is never going to be good enough lets find out if Wildie / Ellis can do a better job.

R.A. should be using James, Ellis, Walshaw, L.Smith in all the remaining games IMO. On current form we'll not win another game this season.

They need a chance to "see how they go"

No point having reserves and no point busting a gut to be ignored.

May as well pack Anakin/Wildie/Ellis off then, if they don't deserve a shot, lets face it plus 30 points every game what have they got to lose.
