Maybe it's just a cunning plan to try and get Wakefield fans to go watch. Someone should tell him he picked the wrong player.

The big clubs are effectively picking the squads and therefore further undermining the credibility of the concept.

interesting tweet by the wakefield express (retweeted by the wildcats) that Collis and Smith were due in the exiles squad, but Collis was injured and Smith has just become a dad.

We would have had more representation! Smith especially would have been justified a place imo

Ever heard of paternity leave? The Exiles game will no doubt involve the squad getting together over the next few days for some training runs and briefings and such.

Poor bloke - him and his Mrs are thousands away from all their support network and have just had a baby; can anyone begrudge him a few days off to get the nipper settled in and look after her indoors?!

Which pretty much underlines what a joke the Exiles concept is. I cannot buy into this. 'Exiles'..that's an artificial construct in itself. Utter b*&^%ks. And it ends up this team that I expect was supposed to be made up of the best of our overseas players (they are foreigners, not 'Exiles'), is just whoever isn't English and is available from the SL pool of foreigners. Do you think Tim Smith would not be playing as a new Dad if this was a selection to play for Australia...or his State of Origin? Exiles is another load of SL flim flam

Regarding tim smith, If he had been int he exiles squad, then he would have been away from friday morning until sunday night with wakefield, then straight into camp with the exiles on sunday evening until thursday morning. so nearly a week. After just having a new kid i think that that is a valid reason not to go play for a joke team.

Hope he does well so a team will think he is a world beater then we can get rid ! Like someone said on here he could be a winger.
